This is an ancient laptop by todays standards, but my kid sister gave me this last year and it was purchased new in 2000.
My Bro maxed out the Ram and installed a wireless card.
This thing is a small tank!
For a laptop that was not designed to last for more than a year or three witout being outdated, it has exceeded even my expectations!
Of course, being old and worn, the plastic around the keyboard is warped and some of the alphs/numeric keys stick or need to be pressed in ...

It has a pentium III 1 GHz chip with 512MB memory runs everything I need. I would recommend a 20 GB hard drive minimum nowadays. I use the stick pointer when I draw but 99 percent of the time I use the touchpad for for everything else. You can hook up a standard mouse if you want. It has a serial and parallel ports if needed. With the 14 inch ...

Dell make solid machines - but they never seem to deliver the cheapest or fastest equipment.
The silver case and dark grey keyboard are a vast improvement on the old C series which was all black.
A good solid key action and choice of either the pointing "thingy" in the middle of the key board as well as the fairly standard touch pad.
4 USB ports as well as the standard ethernet, telephone, screen and printer ensure there is plenty of ...
