This is an ancient laptop by todays standards, but my kid sister gave me this last year and it was purchased new in 2000. My Bro maxed out the Ram and installed a wireless card. This thing is a small tank! For a laptop that was not designed to last for more than a year or three witout being outdated, it has exceeded even my expectations! Of course, being old and worn, the plastic around the keyboard is warped and some of the alphs/numeric keys stick or need to be pressed in ...

Over all this is a Dell and it's like the Quartz that keeps on ticking. It's durable and light enough to carry anywhere the user needs to go.

The Dell Latitude D620 has a spec that means you are booting, starting up and processing about as fast as you could possibly need. At the end of the day, if a machine can do that task reliably, then that's the basic job done - that's what computers are for. Anything more aesthetic is largely irrelevant and when you consider the entire hardware industry has become so cut-throat that the stuff itself is just really mass-market commodities rather than pieces of engineering, there's ...

I wish it had internal wireless card... there is a bay I popped in a wireless card and it worked just fine. I upgraded from a CD-ROM to DVD player/CD-RW. It has a pentium III 1 GHz chip with 512MB memory runs everything I need. I would recommend a 20 GB hard drive minimum nowadays. I use the stick pointer when I draw but 99 percent of the time I use the touchpad for for everything else. You can hook up a standard mouse if you want. It has a serial and parallel ports if needed. With the 14 inch ...

Dell make solid machines - but they never seem to deliver the cheapest or fastest equipment. The silver case and dark grey keyboard are a vast improvement on the old C series which was all black. A good solid key action and choice of either the pointing "thingy" in the middle of the key board as well as the fairly standard touch pad. 4 USB ports as well as the standard ethernet, telephone, screen and printer ensure there is plenty of ...
