best decision I ever made

I used to be scared to answer the door or even hear the mail arriving as I was struggling to pay off my debts.Then I found out about stepchange.I plucked up the courage to call them convinced they would tell me how stupid I had been allowing the debts to get so out of hand but far from it they were fantastic.Before I called I hadn't even calculated the total amount I was owing on all my credit cards and loans and was shocked at the huge sum (nearly 89 thousand pounds)but the lady I spoke to explained that as the banks were dealing in billions of pounds the money I owed was a paltry amount to them.she talked to me about the various options available and we set up a payment plan.I couldn't believe I would still have money left for myself each month but I did.When I put the phone down at the end of the call I felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders.I no longer feared opening the mail or answering the phone as I just referred them to stepchange (my suit of armour)Now after many years I am completely free of debt and I cant thank stepchange enough for all their help and support in that time.they are like guardian angels who you can turn to anytime.
