I got letters from couple of my creditors, so i contacted creditors to be told they had not recieved any payments since Nov 12.
Step change was recomended by one of the creditors which is free as they are a charty so no monthly cost to you.
I did contact all my creditors to find most had gaps in payments, turns out DHD held back payments (to gain interest no doubt) and paid just in nick of time so I would know,
Too late DHD I found you out you slime bags.
5-6 weeks ago I set up a second bank account and pay in to that same as I paid before, with standing orders to each creditor, The creditors were contacted by me and I get no complaints from them now and all payments will be paid on time EVERY time.
Step Change are there to help me if I need them.

I've just found out this morning whats happened,im devastated,i'd payed them £1,450 for them to deal with my bankruptcy.it took me over a year to pay for it.no idea what im meant to do now .ive been advised to contact Clark Richards, who has taken over in 6-8 weeks time to see if there is anything they can do....back to sleepless night in the meantime :(

I've been with debt help direct for nine months and I just cannot explain how grateful I am . After my husband lost his job and I lost full time hours to part time I just didn't know where to turn but the staff especiallylaura have just dense helpful. We have been with money worries for 3 years now and since Debt help direct took over, 10 months ago, the creditors have only received 4 payments. This is not good enough and we were also told on the phone that other people's payments have not gone out. One of our creditors even told us that they are gong to the ministry of justice as debt help direct are stealing all of the clients money. Please please please everyone stop your payments and cancel your plans as they are ruining people's lives. (read more)

I agree. Stop all payments to this company. I was with Money Worries and had no problems. Debt Help Direct took over and straight away I have had problems. My creditors are constantly calling and writing to me. I have just tried to call today and the telephone number does not work. I went to their website and it has been suspended!. They prey on the vunerable. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY.

Any advice on how to get my £2000 back from them. We were going through Bankcrupcy through this company now all there phones are engaged time & don't answer emails. Trading Standards are now aware of these guys. This is getting to be more stressful in a big way...

I have now contacted the Cheshire fraud squad & have a serial number, they have all th companies pc,s & assets frozen & his been arrested for fraud. I can't believe we've been caught like this we've!! He knew we've just had our first baby & every penny counted!! Who is oft, sorry but haven't a clue as never had this before...

Hi OFT stands for the Office of Fair Trading. Please report this company. Their e-mail address is enquiries@oft.gsi.gov.uk
Just tell them they have stolen your money as well as other customers and that they have been arrested for fraud. It is the OFT that gave them a license to trade and rip us off. They do not deal with individual cases you need the Financial Ombudsman for that but the OFT will add your complaint to all the others about Debt Help Direct. They have replied to me and said they have noted the details of my complaint along with others they have received with a view to any action they may take. If they do take action they may need to contact me again.

I have been advised today that they have gone bust as i received a similar letter saying they have missed payments so tried to contact them and the website,emails and phone numbers no longer work, i have canx my S/O today and have gone direct to the bank to arrange with no fees etc.

Hi, can I ask who advised you about this company going bust? As I've spoke to companies house they've informed us that that accounts are up to date but the director ( our friend NOT ) has stood down! Nothing about going bust! Also don't think any company can go bust if the fraud squad are dealing with them. Going bust is a lot different than being stopped trading for fraud! I've emailed OFT about him taking our £2000 but still at a loose end on how or if we can get this money back. I've heard it may have to go through goverment as they have to get there money first whatever that means... We really need to go bankcrupt but now have no money to do so as its best part of £700 each in court... This is now really coming between myself & wife & new born, & just don't know where to go from here... Can't believe this scum has done this to us! Also he has all our account details passports, & other personal information.... Hope he gets his & hope he has some soap on a rope ready for jail... Please can anyone advise on how to or if we can get our £2000 back this is a lot of money paid to him over a course of 12months....

I have just found out about this company, I paid them 1000 pounds to deal with my bankrupsy, I was told to hold fire for 3 months for them to deal with my creditors, I rang them today to find out if they had got anywhere close to getting a bankrupsy date, to find out that they no longer exsist. I spoke to a nice lady who advised me that another company is dealing with all the accounts, however they have not yet recieved the bankrupsy accounts through yet. Very worrying. I have been told to call back in 2 weeks to see if they have any information on my account. So Im in limbo......Why wasnt this put in the press?? I only found out today, I googled it, and it was only published in Cheshire/Whimslow area, surely this affects people all over the country.

Since April last year Debt help direct have been managing my affairs as they bought out Money worries who I had never had any issues with. Since then I have regular letters from my creditors telling me they haven't been paid. I agree. I'm having the exact same problem! 6 payments missed in one account and three on another. One account has even gone to collections due to the missed payments and I'm receiving daily phone calls threatening to visit my home because of it. I made a complaint in writing 6 days ago and have heard nothing, despite emailing and calling several times. Disgusting, unprofessional and negligent behaviour.

Same type of thing happened to me, I called all my creditors to find state of play, one creditor recommended i contact Step Change which is a charity so there are NO COSTS to you each month.
They are VERY helpful indeed.
Now I pay my creditors direct from a second bank account solely for that purpose, with standing orders set up to pay on 5th of every month, I contacted my creditors and TOLD them what was happening from now on and all are happy with that

I have been advised today that they have gone bust as i received a similar letter saying they have missed payments so tried to contact them and the website,emails and phone numbers no longer work, i have canx my S/O today and have gone direct to the bank to arrange with no fees etc.
