Bought card in US for use in Holland. Bad experience from the start:
Person in US didn't speak English well -- not being racist here, just a statement of fact
Got to Holland -- Card didn't work!
Called the toll free # -- After 30 minutes, finally got to a live person. He told me it should work. Duh! I knew that. I was trying to get it to work, bozo!
Went to first Travelex in Amsterdam Centraal Station: Lady there told me it wasn't a debit card. Hello! It says "debit" right on the card! Then she said since it was bought in the US, she can't help me, and I need to go to the US for help. Are you KIDDING me!!
Went to another Travelex place. THis guy told me it will work as a debit card...but only in certain places (which you don't know until it says it won't work. His best suggestion was to go to an ATM and withdraw the money---which of course, incurs fees that benefit Travelex
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS unless you want to waste time and get angry on your trip!!!!
