I’m a guy in my late 20s and I‘ve been on MSF twice now for a month each.
My first experience of the site was ok - I went on dates with 3 different girls as a result. A couple of these did lead to further dates, but ultimately nothing came of them. So I decided to have another try a few months later as, to be fair, the site had met my basic expectation of getting me a few dates.
Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed the second time around. To try to demonstrate why……
My initial approach was to send a message to the girl I liked the look of most. When I got no response, I sent a messages to a couple more girls who I also thought seemed nice. Again no response. So I decided what the hell, send messages to all the girls I thought looked nice!
In total, as a consequence, I initiated messages to 47 different girls that I thought might be interesting to me. By the expiry of my subscription, 31 (that’s 2 out of every 3) remained unopened! And all of these had been unopened for 2-3 weeks by this point. Assuming a paying member would open a message they were sent within a 2-3 week period, I can only conclude that the vast majority of these 31 girls were unlikely to be paying members during that period (if they were even logging into the site at all) despite the fact that they were all still searchable of course.
Of the remaining 16 (or one third) that did open my message, 10 replied in some form; this equates to a reply from about a fifth of all the girls I originally messaged, and from about two thirds of the ones who actually opened them. Bottom line: unlikely to have my messages opened, but stood a reasonable chance of some form of reply (albeit not necessarily positive!) if they were.
One of the girls who replied turned out to live nowhere near me and so, rightly, obviously wasn't interested. The other 9 all appeared to live reasonably near to me and were similar ages to me. Of these 9, one rejected me outright and another showed an obvious lack of interest (i regarded as a rejection).
I sent replies to all the remaining 7 girls, and at this hurdle a further 4 fell by the wayside with their lack of response. This meant I had just 3 from my original 47 who I regarded as showing a genuine degree of interest.
Then, after receiving 3 positive messages, the first of them went silent for several days and then sent me a rejection message; the second one went silent for while after I’d received 5 messages then apologised that she’d been busy, but I didn’t hear from her after that (with a week left of my membership to run I hasten to add); the last one was quite nice and interested, but I realised I wasn’t interested enough to want to date her unfortunately.
Therefore one potential date if you like, but overall a disappointing experience. I really don’t know how typical this is though.
A few further points I would like to make about my experience/the site in general:-
- Often several pages of profiles might come up after conducting a search, but that didn't necessarily mean all those profiles were being regularly accessed or that they were paying members (in which case they couldn't read or send messages until they had).
One area I searched gave me about 9 pages of girls’ profiles; that’s about 90 profiles in total. However, based on my unread messages and observations of profile positional changes (n.b. the most recent profile logged into jumps to the first slot of the first page) I would guess that 70-75% of them were not even being logged into regularly (if at all) because they never seemed to move to the first page. And for the profiles that did move, there’s no guarantee that they were paying members anyway. To MSF’s credit though, from what I can tell, if you’re a member (paid or unpaid) you can conduct an advanced search where you look for people who have logged in within a defined timeframe e.g. the past day, the past week etc. So that can give you a much better idea. When I did such a search with only profiles that had been logged into within the past week, my original approximate 90 went down to about 12. MSF claim that they have an active community and that people on the last page of searches may have logged in within only a few hours. Well from my experience and in my opinion, the key word there is probably
