Valerief1966's review of Eharmony www.eharmony.com

“Does EHarmony actually have any genuine members anymore?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Valerief1966 on 13/05/2014

I have used Eharmony in the past and actually had some success out of it, unfortunately that relationship didn't end up working out. After about 6 months I decided to give EHarmony another go.

Just to put things in perspective, I'm a male living in the UK, (not the most ugly person in the world!), fit, good job, etc. etc.

So I reactivated my account (I hadn't been on it for over a year but all of my details were still there), I updated a few bits and bobs and turned on the 'receive new matches' setting.

Within a day I was getting lots of matches and receiving at least one icebreaker or message per day.
Great I thought, but at that stage I hadn't actually signed up and I couldn't believe the price of the subscription, £45 per month (April 2014), but I knew from past experience, if you waited long enough they'd offer a cheaper deal.

Sure enough after a week, I received an email offering me 3 months subscription for £5.95 per month!
I went for it, and guess what? The people who had sent messages to me mysteriously didn't reply to my responses.

Further to that matches slowed down to a crawl, with bizarre locations (one including Houston Texas! and completely outside my preferences.

The daily matches went from on average 10 per day in the first week (approx 90% of which hadn't been on the site for over a month - that really means they have left the site in my opinion)
3 per day in the second week, and now I'm lucky if I get one, out of date, completely irrelevant match a day now.
And of course, the icebreakers stopped, even though I was sending quite a few myself.

My overall opinion of this site now, is that it just doesn't have anywhere near enough members, they are desperate to keep the business going so use fake profiles to get your interest to sign up and just are faceless business trying to extract money out lonely people.

The most annoying thing is you never hear any acknowledgement of this from EHarmony, and I'm sure, if they ever even read review sites like this, they would ever give a flying 'eff'!

Well I'll keep my membership going for the period I have paid for, in the vain hope that something may come of it, after that, never again.
