“Very good site for Asian singles ”

I joined this site a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised with the caliber of people on there. I am a single professional woman in my 30's was struggling to meet people. Through the site I have been on a few dates. I find the site easy to use and I like the search filters. This is one of the better dating sites I have used. I personally prefer attending the events though where you can meet people face to face. (read more)

The worst site I've had the misfortune to come across. Run by a bunch of money-hungry so and so's, their only desire is for your money. Your custom, hopes and happiness mean nothing to them. We operate efficient customer services, and generally reply to all messages personally within an hour.

Unfortunately, online dating cannot work for everyone and sometimes users expectations are unrealistic about what can be expected for a small fee of £10 to £20 per month on average.

I believe that your complaint may be in relation to repeat billing. It is well documented that online dating sites operate subscriptions. This is necessary due to the high overheads such as the cost of customer acquisition. If you wish to end your membership please remember to cancel on the website. Unlike many sites, we have no notice period so you can cancel at any time. We also have a sensible refund policy which is available on our website.

I completely agree with the reviewer before me, but for a different specific reason. This site is amateurish compared to others - read the T&Cs in great detail before signing up, and then reconsider, and don't. I joined as a member. Later I was no longer a paid member. I tried to read a message sent to me, found that I couldn't as I was no longer a paid member. No other site requires payment to READ messages sent by others - bizarre. Access to the messaging function is the only real point of an online dating service. Hence it is a paid for feature on almost every dating website.

In an analysis of a three month period, we have seen that over 70% of all messages on our system get read.

Unfortunately, if you cancel your membership then all paid for features will be withdrawn.

Where sites allow users to read messages for free, then users will send contact details in the first message which can be accessed by the non-paying member. Users then bypass the site completely depriving the website of membership fees and the members lose the relative safety of having that initial conversation via the website.

We do of course allow members to send contact details, but both parties must be full members or the message needs to be reply paid (see below).

In 2007 we invented the "reply paid" system so users could send message reply paid. This increases the open rate to over 80%. We offer this with our Premium Plus membership, which is only slightly more expensive than standard membership.

“Money-making scam”

I decided to join AsianSingleSolution.com for just one month to see how it goes. Therefore when I joined I paid for one month premium plus membership rather than 3 months or 6 months etc. As the month came to an end I decided not to renew my membership. However money was taken from my account. When I queried about this i was told that it is in terms and conditions that when I pay I am entering a subscription and they have a non-refund policy. It is always disappointing to hear that a customer is not happy with the service.

We are very happy to tell everyone that our Premium memberships are repeat billed and this is stated in several places and confirmed by email after joining.

All quality dating sites (with very few exceptions) offer ongoing subscriptions, so that there are sufficient revenues to recruit new members, and to motivate the owners to create a quality and sustainable business.

If you wish to cancel your membership, please remember to do so on the website. Unlike most sites, we do not require any notice period so membership can be cancelled at any time.

From what you are saying, in this case, I believe that you had actually accessed messages and had therefore made use of the membership after your second subscription payment. This is not generally a feature of the basic membership.

As you say, we have many members, which makes the service successful and worth the fee that we charge.

It is interesting that you mention a competitor because since you wrote this, they have also introduced repeat billing. The reason is simple as it is generally only financially viable to run a dating site with repeat billing.

Please consider that we have a sensible refund policy which is published on our website. This generally applies to unwanted 3 or 6 month terms. Please see the website for details.

The main reason memberships are offered as 1, 3 or 6 month terms is to allow the customer to maintain the flexibility that they feel is necessary. Many services offer monthly subscriptions such as mobile phones, Gyms, subscription TV etc. There is no assumption that the membership would end after the initial period unless cancelled.

Although we were unable to refund you on this occasion, you were offered a credit note so that you would utilise the services in the future should that become necessary.

As a final thought , I think you are someone who met your partner through us. Sometimes customers meet their life partner via our services, but feel entitled to a refund of the balance of membership, even though it may only be £20 or so. Personally, I find this rather disheartening. Finding a life partner is often the biggest challenge we all face. Yet, members are unwilling to concede a small reward or thank you to the dating site. A friend put me up to join this Asian dating site. I'm always sceptical of this sort of thing, but within a day Id had about 20 messages and loads more profile visits. I got chatting to quite a few nice lads on the site, and I also went to one of their London parties. They are mostly British Asians and all seemed to have decent jobs so that worked for me.
