WeRecoverData.com Data Recovery Service

“Customer Service what?”

Written on: 14/05/2012 by Angrycustomer22 (1 review written)

My mac crashed about a month ago. After researching multiple data recovery companies I decided on WeRecoverData.com. I should have gone elsewhere.

My case took about 3 days to open from the initial time my harddrive was received. I finally recieved an email May 3rd saying that they have an estimate. $2400. What is this, an MRI? RIDICULOUS. I immediately emailed them and said NO thank you and please return my harddrive.

A day later. NO response. May 5th, NO response. Angry customer? YES. I finally get an email from Leighton saying that his supervisor called me and offered me a lower rate (economy) for $1800. Again, NO thank you. I told them from the start I wouldn't be able to pay anymore than $300-500 MAX. I emailed Leighton and said no thank you, please send my harddrive back. That was May 6th. I sent another email May 7th.

It is now May 14th and I have not received my harddrive, so I call. Mike picks up and says they never heard from me. OH really? I inform Mike that I've been emailing for over a week and requesting my personal property to be returned. Mike says it'll be $55 to have it shipped back. $55??? I paid $10, with tracking, to mail it there. I literally said "are you crazy? $55??" He said he would speak to a supervisor and get back to me. I hung up, and decided to call back and speak to a supervisor myself. I wait, and wait; no answer. I hang up and call again. I wait, and wait, and 20 minutes later Mike picks up and says they will waive the return shipping costs.

Thank you Mike. I appreciate your understanding and customer service- you inquired and did what you were allowed to do for me and I appreciate that.

Leighton- you are terrible at customer service. Take notes from Mike, and return your customer's EMAILS!

Now, about a month later, I have to get the harddrive to my cousin and hope he can recover the data. My entire PH.D. career is on that harddrive. Everything- notes, ppts, papers, presentations, everything. The longer you wait, the less likely the data is "recoverable." I wasted my time with WeRecoverData.com and I hope others learn and don't do the same.

And learn to get dropbox- that thing is amazing.
