Avoid Wickes!

I bought bathroom tiles from Wickes online, after being assured that they were in stock and would be delivered to my address in Surrey the following day between 8am-1pm. Very late that evening Wickes bombarded me with phone texts confirming the delivery. The following morning I picked up a phone message to say the tiles would not be delivered because they were not in stock after all. I spoke to a delivery manager who simply could not care less that I had lost working time and that I had a bathroom fitter and tiler booked for a week from the Monday. Eventually, he assured me they would be delivered the following day, marked as a priority. Late that evening I was again bombarded with texts from Wickes assuring me that the tiles would be delivered. The following morning, another phone message arrived to say they would not be delivered after all. After more fruitless calls to off-hand staff who could not care less, I cancelled the order - though no promised email confirmation ever arrived - and the bathroom fitter. I am now buying my tiles, kitchen and wood flooring elsewhere, so due to Wickes's lies and subsequent rudeness and callous lack of customer care, it and its group companies Benchmarx and Travis Perkins have lost thousands of pounds' worth of my business and I will NEVER shop there again for anything.
