Bought a brass cabin hook, said "brass" on the pack. The hook and eye were brass, but the four included wood screws were steel flashed with brass. It must have saved them all of 1 pence, but if you want something that will not corrode, like on a boat, that's no good. Would not be so bad if real brass screws were easy to find these days. I'd prefer they did *not* include screws with this sort of thing anyway and for screws to be available separately so *you*, not they, can choose what is best for the job.
