I ordered a bathroom suite and when it arrived the bath was damaged and the toilet seat was the incorrect size.
I rang their helpline straight away and was told someone would ring me in 48 hours with a delivery date for a replacement. Three days later I rang them as no one had been in touch, and was told to wait another 48 hours. Two days later I rang again and was informed that I shouldn't expect anyone to ring me back, as they were waiting to hear from their suppliers. After shouting I spoke to the manager who assured me he would personally call me when he was next back in work. He didn't.
Every single representative I spoke to on the phone could not have cared less. I can only assume that Homebase employ temps in their call centre, who are paid very little.
When the replacement finally arrived, the toilet seat was still incorrect and the bath came without fittings, which I had to buy.
All in all, I was without a bath or shower for 12 days. My compensation for the inconvenience? A £50 Homebase gift voucher. I kid you not. Avoid at all costs.
