“Amazed Homebase are still in business”

I ordered a bathroom suite and when it arrived the bath was damaged and the toilet seat was the incorrect size.
I rang their helpline straight away and was told someone would ring me in 48 hours with a delivery date for a replacement. Three days later I rang them as no one had been in touch, and was told to wait another 48 hours. Two days later I rang again and was informed that I shouldn't expect anyone to ring me back, as they were waiting to hear from their suppliers. After shouting I spoke to the manager who assured me he would personally call me when he was next back in work. He didn't.
Every single representative I spoke to on the phone could not have cared less. I can only assume that Homebase employ temps in their call centre, who are paid very little.
When the replacement finally arrived, the toilet seat was still incorrect and the bath came without fittings, which I had to buy.
All in all, I was without a bath or shower for 12 days. My compensation for the inconvenience? A £50 Homebase gift voucher. I kid you not. Avoid at all costs.

I work for homebase why do you think all staff are like that ,i have respect for customers so don,t tar us all the same. if you look around you will find that what you say can be said about all stores across the world. Where do you work can i say the same about you. i know what the law says and i use it regulary with companies, i have been in the same situation as you. 95% of the time it is the supplier thats at fault but its down to the company to take the flack, if you take my advice whoever you have a complaint about use the power of the net and send emails you will always get better attention send it to the companys h/o but do your homework and look up the sale of goods act first . you will find most answers in that . like i say i work for homebase its a good company but some poor managers .

I also work for Homebase and I treat all my customers with great respect and bend over backwards to solve there problems although most are brought on themselves due to cowboy so called kitchen fitters and doh ball plumbers or just someone who thinks they can do DIY jobs.but hey we are here to help but it's a lot of time due to suppliers that let us down and I get very frustrated when we the store can't get any back up from the supplier. I think that our suppliers let us down badly and think Homebase should seriously think of getting rid . It also annoys me that some folk have nothing better to do and put complaints on here. It's people jobs your trying to get rid of if Homebase wasn't in business hundreds would be unemployed. is your job so safe ?
