What also arrived was a monthly charge from a Swiss based scam company called "completesavings.co.uk" claiming I had signed up with them by purchasing the knives!! I ordered two knife sets from Jean Patrique in January 2012 and have waiting for delivery.I payed by credit card and the payment has been payed out.After weeks of waiting I have sent several emails which were ignored and phoned their service several times,to be told by the polite female that the goods would be delivered in the next two days and the delivery was in the hands of their couriers.They still have not arrived.Could someone advise me where to go from here. Please see my review headed "Jean Patrique Should be Reported to the Office of Fair Trading" that identifies the exact problems, excuses and lies that you have encountered. I finally gave up in January 12, I had ordered goods for Xmas presents in Nov 11 and by then they were not even responding to my emails. I wrote an email giving them 7 days to refund my money (taken out of my account immediately I placed the order in Nov 11) or I would take County Court action against them particularly because I had emails promising delivery several times since November 11 even by courier that failed to materialise. I received a refund after around 10 days. Might be worth trying. I also reported the company to Trading Standards and also logged a complaint on the Office of Fair Trading. If more people did that the company would be investigated. I believe that they take payment for goods that they do not have in the expectation or hope that they will become stock. Some of my goods that were not delivered were later advertised again on their website.

Having read some very negative reviews on the items - I was worried very worried indeed. So many reported a scam was going on. How wrong they were !!! I have read many of these forum complaints regarding all of Jean Patrique items. I took into consideration the time delays and items not turning up. But I also took into consideration that these items are of good quality and in my view and that of friends very good value for money. So I sent for the 5 knife set at £1.99 yes that is £1.99 for five steel knives, plus of course £7.99 for postage and packageing. I agree they can be returned but only if they are delivered in the first place, my goods were never delivered despite payment being taken out of my account immediately I made the order. I think that waiting over 3 months for a delivery with numerous promises of delivery within a few days (confirmed in emails) that never materialised shows sufficient patience; especially bearing in mind that the goods were for Xmas presents and I had to go out on Xmas Eve and buy replacement gifts thus incurring double expense without recompense from Jean Patrique. It was only after threats of court action that my money was refunded months later. They knew exactly what they were doing when they lied to me in their emails.

I ordered mine direct from the web site. Pan and knifes. They offered a 4 to 5 day delivery for a extra charge otherwise it could take 4 or 5 weeks for delivery. I opted to wait rather than pay extra. Pans and knifes arrived today, 8 days after placing order. Have not used them yet but the quality appears to be excellent.

I too fell foul of this Company. I only received them after a long wait when I sent an email from Pay Pal saying Payment received..
The knives look very pretty but only cut butter and they showed rust after just ONE hand wash !!!!!
Avoid them like the plague.

Got a 3 knife set as part of a special offer (£3.99 down from apparently £74.99!). I can't fault the service - goods arrived within a week. The knives look good and feel good. Just one problem: they are completely blunt! No attempt to sharpen them worked either. So don't be fooled. I contacted customer services and explained my concern to be told that I had to 'sharpen them, that's like taking a new car in for a service before you drive it. I have complained to the Office of Fair Trading and Trading Standards but did not think about the Advertising Standards Agency, I will do so. I agree. I do wish all those that have a dreadful, disappointing and frustrating experience would make a formal complaint to these agencies.

I havetelephoned 6 times and just keep getting "One item is out of stock and should be in soon". They then said "we did get some of the items in but they were all sent out on waiting orders"
I have also written to this company and did not get the courtesy of a reply.
I have now asked them to deliver what items they have in stock and to forward the missing item (carving fork) when it arrives. We will see.

I recevied my 3 pce knife set this morning, took about 5 days delivery.
Communication was very good, got an email saying when the order had been dispatched, and 2 days later it arrived.
I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but on initial impression I would have to say pretty good. Any knife will go blunt it proper care isn't taken, read the care insrtuctions and take heed. Always give a quick sharpen on a steel after usage and store correctly.

They are rubbish and just about worth the £1.99 they purport to sell them for. It's a joke to say the set is worth over £100. I must say I am very disappointed with the sandwich toaster. For its money, I could have bought a far better product. The knives are not sharp and I don't think they should carry the word professional as they are certainly not professional quality knives. Nice design, but blunt.

I bought the knife set which was on offer for a fantastic price. It took five weeks to arrive and the quality seemed very poor to me. I just gave them away. I will never buy from this company again. (read more)

I have been reading your comments and it appears that Jean Patrique is being misunderstood. I am the Customer Services Director and I am very sorry to hear about your experience that you have had with us. There has been a 4-week delay with the knives in October, due to a very heavy demand for the product. I can assure you that all outstanding orders have now been fulfilled.
