We flew to New York on the 18th November 2008 and caught the QM2 to the Carribean on the 21st November 2008. This trip was far beyond what I expected. It was amazing. We are now looking for a trip for 2009. If we had won the lottery I do not think that we could have had better service. ...

We had a table for 6 people, going to New York, there was, only 2 of us on it, coming back to Southampton, there was 6 of us, 4 people from the US, and we all got on fine. We had a balcony cabin which had plenty of room. There was such a lot of food, to much for me, I loved the afternoon tea, I have written this review and going on the QM2 again next year says it all. We travelled to New York on 10 October 2008 and had the most wonderful time. Very comfortable room with a little balcony from which we watched the changing sky and the QE2 which travelled alongside us on its last trip to New York. Very obliging, helpful and friendly staff, great food at all the restaurants we tried, a huge number of classes to attend and other things to do (went to dancing, watercolour painting and acting classes), wonderful formal evenings with good bands if you fancied ...

Cunard's cabin and restaurant staff were impeccable, however, the new liner, despite all the hype was a considerable disappointment. The ship is large. She feels like an oil tanker fitted for passengers and on first site in port looks clumsy and unattractive with two exhaust pipes at the rear. On board, one felt that you were on an oversized ferry. The staircases felt like service ...

First timers we were quite apprehensive about this trip.
Once on board, what a surprise, I can honestly say we enjoyed every minute of the crossing from New York. We enjoyed the formality, and the dining experience. Truly relaxing time you could do as much or a little as you wanted. I would recommend this experience to anyone.
We fully intend a repeat of this next year...well done ...
