“The Beast. Yamaha XV1900A”

★★★★★

written by rebelrider4711 on 26/06/2011

Well, i've had this bike from new, and have covered 2500 miles on it, it is so comfortable to ride, my ex wife fell asleep on the back when returning from London, It is a very heavy bike, but i am a big biker, but when under way it handles like a dream, very well balanced, fuel economy when ridden normal is 50 MPG, the engine sound is out of this world, i love this bike so much, Is there anything i don't like? NO! the styling, build quality, comfort, sound, in fact every thing about the bike i simply love, value for money? yes i had a stonking deal from my dealer, i pushed him hard for a good deal, Just one thing that i would like to complain about is the cost of the extras from Yamaha, very expensive, but at the end of the day i've made my bike my own with all the best quality extras that i have fitted on it, good job i aint got her indoors anymore, hahaha this bike is a show stopper, every where i go people just stop and stare, even OAPs so if your in the market for a new bike cruiser get one of these Yamaha XV1900A......

“This is my first bike. Yes. Insanely nice styling....”

★★★★★

This is my first bike. Yes. Insanely nice styling. Easy to handle when it's moving but can be daunting at very low speeds due to it's length and weight. You don't want it to lay on it's side ever. If it does, either build more muscles or call for help. It's a massively heavy bike. Once you get used to it, it's sheer exhilarating performance. Handles like a street bike with breath taking acceleration. Weight shifts easily for leans in corners. Word of warning: very high torque means easy for rear to slide when downshifting or if launching. Whilst easy to handle, it also makes it easy to make mistakes and this is not a bike for making mistakes on. Brakes are superb. Good feel and well matched to stop the bike.

Fuel consumption is good for long distances but can be very high for town/city. 50 mph cruising at 2500 rpm. Bike easily hits 120 mph but wind blast won't let u stay there for long.

Suspension is adjustable and ride is comfortable for me. I'm a small rider 5'4" 67kg. Long floorboard allows me option to ride legs stretched out or straight down. Big and wide seat allows me to sit straight up or with a slight forward lean much like a street bike. Have ridden 10-12 hrs on those seats without complaint.

Headlights are superb with wide even low beam and powerful narrow high beam.

Only complaint is at times the sun reflects off the tank located speedo and onto my helmet.

Cables on left side of frame could be better hidden.

No offense to HD riders but this is a real bike that gives you more pleasure in riding and owning maximizing your bang for the buck.

Awesome sounding engine. It's got a real throaty sound and translates so well to the throttle. Unique appearence - a modern retro look. Overall it is a very nice bike. Easy bike to handle considering the size. Very well made from what I can tell. I've only had the bike for 2 weeks and thus far am very happy.

“The Yamaha Midnight Star is very powerful, comfortable...”

★★★★★

The Yamaha Midnight Star is very powerful, comfortable and although very heavy it handles well and is easy to balance when at traffic lights. This bike rocks it pulls well gathers a crowd and the build quality leaves the likes of Harley Davidson well in the shade.
