The sign up process for Equifax "free" 30 day report is awful and frustrating. I only wanted the report to help locate old account details for a PPI claim which I wish I hadn't made. It didn't help, so I want to cancel so I don't get charged. I'm going to try phone the freephone numbers I eventually found [no thanks to Equifax] and mail them my cancellation as well. I wish I'd read customer reviews beforehand [all abysmal] but they were recommended by Bank Fair and Real Time Claims who handled my PPI claim.It took me ages to post a question [how can I cancel] on their online form. I got an e-mail back with a link that they said was a record of my question and their response. Guess what it was when I clicked on it? A blank copy of the same query form for me to fill in again asking the same question. In other words they don't want anyone to cancel and make it as hard as they can. I will send the cancellation by recorded delivery, cancel payments at the bank if they've taken any money and phone them as well. Wish I hadn't bothered.
