We stayed at Piccolo Paradiso which is part of Masseria Terra di Marina in May 2013. To press this property is advertised by HomeAway. We were booked to stay for 7 nights, but ended up only staying 3 nights as the property was nowhere near the standard we were led to believe by the marketing adverts. We paid £500 for our shortened stay.
We were there with my Mother/Mother-in-law who is 75 years old and has breathing difficulties. It was a birthday treat for her 75th.
The property was damp and musty with black damp/stains on the walls. The shower, sink and kitchen trims were filthy. There was black debris coming out of the taps. The property, surroundings and fittings were very basic/rundown/shabby. Various shutters did not close fully, the poolside bathroom was locked and the poolside shower only dribbled. The Fridge/Freezer didn't work. The washing machine drawer was clogged/filthy. We were unable to access TV channels and there were no batteries in either of the remote controls.
We left early as we were concerned for my Mother/Mother in law's health as we felt the damp, mustiness could exacerbate her condition . We only stayed for that length of time as the majority of time was spent away from the property, visiting the area.
We have a catalogue of photos to highlight our problems and if anyone reading this review wanted to see them we would be happy to provide them.
We also wrote a review on Trip Advisor with photos. The advertisers listing was removed within days.
We have made a complaint regarding this property to HomeAway and provided them with photos and written a review for them. Since doing so, two reviews have suddenly appeared praising the property. I am sure the readers of this review will make up their own minds.
