Le Clos du Mai

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, we had told cottages4u of our arrival date and time, but the info had not been passed to the Proprieters.
The actual place is very nice indeed.
We did not find the proprietress at all friendly.
There was no Wifi as the bill had not been paid to the provider. The lady proprietress told us each day that it would be available the next day, but after a week, it was still not available.
In the evening before we departed the Proprietress came to tell us that unless we thoroughly cleaned the property then she would withhold the deposit, which was paid in cash. She told us that we had to clean everything, even to washing the floors. On the morning of our departure she came to inspect the property, she held the deposit in one hand and ran her fingers over all the surfaces to make sure it was clean. She was very unfriendly. We had no intention of leaving the property in disarray. The Gite was much cleaner when we left than it had been on our arrival. Not recommended at all.
