“Avoid this company like the plague no fix no fee lies”

This is to warn people not to use this company an engineer came for 2hrs said it was fixed. I paid £89.10, an hour later the fault was back they sent him back the next day.I soon realised that he did not know what he was doing, he left me with no computer at all they said they would get back to me about a refund no chance! I am so pleased you reported this company to Trading Standards. I did the same. Hopefully they will collect enough evidence to close this company. They also told me that PC Callout were in breach of contract in my situation too. I also experienced an engineer who did not know what he was doing. PC Callout needs to be avoided at all costs.

“Absolute Rubbish”

Phoned yesterday, engineer booked for 11am same day. Didn't turn up. Phone call received at 11:30 to say engineer was ill and couldn't come. Another appointment made for 9:30 today. No-one came. Contacted them at 10 am. Told engineer still ill and no-one else could come for 2 days. When I complained about lack of service, they said they didn't like my attitude and didn't wnt my custom. “Didn't show up so can't rate the quality”

Arranged for 09:00 engineer to fix proxy server issue. 09:30 no show so called office. Told they will call back. 10:00 I called again told they tried to call but couldn't connect to my number and the engineer was 15 mins away. Called at 10:30 and was offered engineers mobile number. Called twice and left messages but no response. Now it's 11:45 and no sign of an engineer yet. If the do turn up now I will turn them away. “Waste of time! Avoid!”

Was told an engineer will be over by 1pm, he ended up turning up at six pm (spent half an hour on the phone explaining which train he should use to get to us although we are based in the city)he didn't have the right part (although its a standard part), said he will be back at 10.15 the next morning & turned up at 11. “Smooth and efficient”

Had a problem with my admin password for Windows7 which I explained to PC Callout via web chat and within 10 minutes they arranged for an engineer to call. The engineer, phoned me to ask about the problem and to say he was on his way. Within 1/2 hour of his arrival the problem was fixed, my pc was running perfectly and I happily paid up £59.00 incl. vat. Are you sure you don't work for PC Callout or have an affiliation with them? Admin password problems for W7 are easily fixed by the administrator.

I'm a private individual, retired and was in a difficulty which PC Call out handled quickly and efficiently. In respect of the problem I am the only administrator but couldn't get past the password screen and even tried to get via my Guest account but kept being thrown back to the administrator password screen -catch 22. PC Callout got me out of a jam and I was grateful and they fully deserve my review.
I've read other reviews which I agree some aren't good but I can only comment on my experience.

“DON'T BELIEVE THAT THEY DON'T CHARGE!!”

My printer wasn't working so I called them out. After the engineer messed about for about 10 mins he told me that the printer couldn't be repaired. He then talked me into buying a new printer through them at a cost of £114. He organised for me to pay a deposit of £88 on line, which I did. The following day I realised I could buy a printer for £40 so I cancelled the one I had ordered through them. I was assured I would get my deposit back. All I received was £28!! Sorry to hear that you have been had by this so-called PC repair company. How they continue to be allowed to operate within UK law is beyond me. Three words for PC Callout - AVOID AVOID AVOID!

“Awful”

After booking an engineer through their seemingly professional-looking website, I was informed by text an hour after the engineer was due to arrive that the engineer's car had 'broken down'. This is of course a classic excuse, and I guess I can't really say whether it was true or not (but that's the idea, isn't it?!!). Don't go near them!!!!!!!!!! I called them out on 13th Aug and the engineer paid 3 visits and the machine still crashed continually. Added to this he talked me into buying a new hard drive, a new external hard drive, keyboard and mouse at a cost of £252.95. He told me they were all damaged and when I gave him the original vista CDs to reinstall, he refused and suggested I install windows 7. That is absolutely disgraceful. I personally used to work for PC Callout & they always try to "encourage" the engineer to "addon extras" such as defrag , broadband speed test etc etc things that are absolutely useless, just to try and squeeze an extra £30+ out of the customer
I also run a nationwide pc callout service
( I wont mention here as I'm not commenting to advertise ).

We tell all of our engineers if they are caught doing this they will be off our books with no second chances.

Also did you know PC Callout do NOT VERIFY the credential of engineers ?
They read through the CV but that is as far as they go.

Avoid this company !!
I am actually surprised they are still in business

This is shocking, I have just been accepted as an engineer for this company so I'm researching who I'm getting in bed with, as I'm a honest, fair and skilled Network Enginner , I hope this was just bad engineers as if I'm honest they haven't even asked me for proof of my certifications just a couple of random questions.

I promise if this company runs a 'shady' operation I will quit and warn others as I have spent years building a good reputation with my own customers.

“Avoid this PC repair company at all costs”

I had the misfortune to use PC Callout regarding my old Windows XP PC. To summarise: PC Callout Limited is a national company who operate from an office in London. They assign a local engineer to a customer’s call. I called PC Callout in August 2012 and an engineer came to my home within a few hours. Great I thought. My husband collected it from Maplin as every minute is chargeed while the engineer is on the job and the would have taken him an hour.
After spending a further 3 hours he left with nothing achieved and presented me with a bill for £178.20. He slyly said he'd only charge for 4 hours instead of 5 if I gave him a £20 cash backhander. Does the company know this??

Two days later I called the company again to tell them that my PC was no better and he came back and suggested the memory chips may need replacing. He tested those and declared them working perfectly well. He fiddled about for a further 2 hours and left stating that everything was now working. That was rubbish.

Therefore I asked for a refund as stated in their policy if the work failed. No such luck. 5 weeks on I'm told the engineer reported that I'd forced him to install windows 8 which is a downright lie. Another expert has now found that the problem was a faulty motherboard. The hard drives, keyboard and mouse work perfectly well so I wasted my money on all these replacements. I'm now talking to my solicitor and trading standards. The company works in a fraudulant way and I paid a further £20 cash to the engineer on his last visit as he said he had travelled a long way and wouldn't be paid for the revisit.
I am absolutely furious, especially as I've since read other bad reviews along the same line. One of the quotes was that they cheated on the older generation, believing they were too naive to complain. This old bird is 66 and I'm fighting for other elderly folk who may fall into the PC CALLOUT LTD trap.

Really sorry to hear about your experience with PC Callout. I am the author of the review "Avoid this PC repair company at all costs" which sums it all up really. The more people who complain about this "company" the better.
