Total waste of time & money!!!!

I had an appointment for an engineer to turn up at 12.30pm on a Friday which seemed reasonable as I had called just after 10am that morning. They advertise to have an engineer out within 2 hours of your call so I was delighted to have an engineer out to look at my laptop. 1pm passed and still no engineer so I called the main help line to ask where the engineer was...they said they would contact him and phone me back right away. 1.30pm and still no phone call so I called again and the woman told me that the engineer was delayed...that the appointment was now 2.30pm which was cutting it fine as I had a meeting later in the afternoon. I was not impressed with the lack of communication but I agreed to the engineer coming out as long as it was not a minute later. At 2pm the engineer called me to say that he couldn't make it till after 3pm which was no good for me so I was just going to cancel. The engineer was very persistent and said he would come out at 10am the next morning so I reluctantly agreed...I really wish I had cancelled.

He came out as promised and although the engineer seemed pleasant, his english was not good. I clearly explained to him that the hard drive on my laptop seemed corrupted and if there was ANY quick way he could save my files as I was getting a new computer. I was not too concerned about a repair to the laptop as the laptop was fairly old...my main concern was to save my files. He told me that the operating system was corrupted but he inserted a cd which enabled him to see my files. He inserted a 16gb USB and then proceeded to save files without really asking me which files were important...it was very frustrating to communicate with him and he didn't seem to listen when I told him where my folders were. Time was ticking and eventually after almost 1.5 hours of saving my photographs etc the USB was filled up...He hadn't even touched on what I needed. He then decided to tell me that if I bought an external casing for my hard drive I could transfer all my files to my new computer in my own time. WHY DID HE NOT SAY THIS AT THE BEGINNING!!!! It took him less than 5 minutes to take out my hard drive.

He proceeded to charge me for 1.5 hours of his time + VAT and £11 for the USB which came to over £100...needless to say I felt really angry...he had basically stretched out his time to make it worth his while. I should have used a local computer repair shop....PLEASE BE VERY WARY OF USING THIS ORGANISATION...their service is a disgrace.
