“It has solar-powered feature”

★★★★☆

written by TerrenceMiller on 11/09/2020

I was attracted to this keyboard mainly due to the solar-powered feature w/ on-off switch and the very good price point. My Microsoft Sculpt keyboard frankly had a much easier and more comfortable layout due to its split keyboard. But it chewed through batteries like a hungry squirrel and with no on/off switch. The Logitech makes my hand feel more cramped as the keys feel so close together vs. Sculpt but am getting used to it. Touch on keys is excellent--responsive and solid tactile feel. You HAVE to put some type of anti-slide pad under the keyboard or it will definitely slide around. I used a honeycomb, thin rubber shelving liner that works great. All-in-all happy so far. It's as definite value for the price.

“Best Keyboard I have ever owned ”

★★★★★

written by Mcdoogle88 on 20/12/2012

I brought the Logitech keyboard to go with a new PC I had recently ordered. Having used wireless keyboard before I was fed up with the constant battery changing and drop outs. However I still wanted the flexibility of a wireless solution. The first thing that attracted me to this keyboard was the fact it was solar powered, and not just on sunlight. I was skeptical that it would be able to get sufficient charge from just light bulbs but I was pleasantly surprised on it's arrival as the smiley face LED lit up as I pressed the battery check button after sitting under an energy efficient bulb for a while. Installing the keyboard was incredibly easy, plug the tiny adapter into the pc (an extender is provided to move it away from the computer to provide less interference, but I found this what not necessary) windows automatically downloads the drivers and your away! I did not install the optional Logitech utility to monitor battery levels though as I am not a fan of any sort of bloat ware. I love how easy and comfy it is to write on the keyboard, it has a very mechanical feel to it with the keys being well spaced. The function buttons work well and required no extra software to be installed on my pc. And to top it all off the keyboard looks fantastic, admittedly I am not an apple fan and avoid them as much as I can, but this keyboard looks blows the apple keyboard out of the water.

“Comfortable, Trouble Free, Wireless Keyboard”

★★★★☆

written by lancsJP1988 on 15/08/2012

I got this keyboard as a replacement at work & although a bit sceptical at first, this keyboard has won me over. I use an Apple keyboard at home (fullsize & a Bluetooth version) & have always found them to be the most comfortable & well made keyboards around. The Logitech has been a pleasant surprise with its well spaced keys & easy action. The solar powered element I think it pretty revolutionary, soaking up the office lights to maintain the keyboard whilst only having a 'button' battery - NOTE: Uses a ML2032 rechargeable battery & must not be replaced with the similarly sized CR2032 as stated on Logitech's website & the manual. The ML2032 batteries are around £5 from eBay. I do worry about how hardy the unit is, I look after all my computer equipment at home & work, but the thin legs & thin design don't look like they'll withstand heavy abuse e.g dropping a large stapler on it. My only gripe is, the same as most wireless keyboards & mice, having a proprietary USB dongle taking up a port on my laptop & with the Microsoft mouse I already have I'm no better off with these than wired devices. The keyboard retails for £60+ & as an investment I think its good value. If the battery lasts for a good couple of years & the keyboard can handle an office environment then I think its a winner - they even do one in Mac Aluminium style.
