Fuji Camera repair - Failing to autofocus - Warranty replacement
After my camera suffered a focusing issue just outside Fuji's warranty I contacted Squaretrade to see if I could claim against their warranty. This process appeared to be in three stages. The initial call was taken by Squaretrade, the advisor was helpful and took details and explained the process. There was confusion over how the camera was to be sent to the repair specialists. I was expecting a mail in the post not an email which disappeared into my junk mail. A UK based 3rd party is involved in the repair area which is why I missed the email. Eventually after contacting squaretrade again they resolved in a friendly manner and soon I was sending the camera to be repaired. This stage seemed to take a week to complete although I'll admit to emailing the repair company to chase for an update. They reported that their findings had been sent to squaretrade and to expect an email. This happened very quickly and they reported the item was too expensive to repair and the value of the item was returned as an Amazon.co.uk voucher which automatically appeared in my Amazon account a few days later.
Overall after the initial confusion over the returns process everything went smoothly, all the people I contacted were helpful and even when issues occurred did their best to resolve the issue.
