I bought this item because I needed more USB ports for accessories I plug into my PC, it seemed fairly cheap, looked appealing and was powered from the mains. This was the reason I bought it.
At first it worked perfectly (about 1 week) I then noticed that the WIFI Dongle I was using to connect to the internet kept failing to load with the computer.
I removed it from the Pluscom unit and continued using the product to load my wireless keyboard and mouse (1 usb device)
After about 1 more week that failed to load as well. I then picked up the USB Hub and found it to be so hot that I had to put it down.
I decided to unplug it and once it was cool I removed the outer casing. To say this product is 'packed in' is an understatement and it has no room for cooling.
It is well designed, but poorly executed, I found glue all over the circuit-board and badly soldered parts, coupled with the fact that ANY heat disrupts it's primary function means it will either melt or trigger a circuit breaker.
I am still using the device now, but it is effectively on Life Support as it is uncased and has a fan keeping it cool.
Do not buy this product, so many corners have been cut that the Designer/Inventor must be ready to take the manufacturer to court ! It also continues to fail in it's basic function.
Once I find a better solution to my USB woes I will consign this to the bin, where it belongs !
