Where do I begin? Lets start with the fact that I own serveral Austin Reed Suits, and a rather nice cashmere coat. In fact I totted it up, and have spent 1500 in the last 12 months at the store in Cabot Square. Ive always found their snootiness to be be amusing, rather than offensive, but there is no excuse for false advertising online and the supporting customer services.
Twice i ordered a suit from their website, both very good bargains, reasonably priced. Both times they took my money, and both times they sent me an email back saying they have searched on my behalf, and they couldn't find a suit in stock.
Once is unfortunate, twice looks like carelessness.
The email said they had not and would not charge my credit card. Both times they actually have charged my credit card.
Several unanswered emails later, I called customer services. The woman on the other end of the phone was disinterested, rude, and sounded like she was chewing gum!
I will never be using Austin Reed again. They have proved to me (not for the first time but now definitely the last) that they don't care about customer service, repeat custom or any of the qualities that make me want to shop again with them. At best they need to do something about their stock control, and customer services, at worst they are deceitfully trafficing people towards their more expensive products by falsely advertising goods that do not exist.
