With some reservations, I evaluated the MG3 intent on retaining an unbiased approach. After quite a few test miles it became apparent that this was something of a serious contender in the 'supermini' class. The build quality is simply superb, fit and finishes on the body tub are up with the best in class. The overall concept is well thought out so that whilst staying within the supermini brief the (British) designers have managed to give the buyer all that is expected. Back seats are superb, boot is big enough and deep, the ergonomics when driving are really good and the spec is unbelievable! Every possible extra is included in the mid to top range and all the current 'fads' are catered for. eg integrated phone, sat nav mp3 etc. can be connected in a simple dash housing. The engine will challenge the unfamiliar in so much as the torque curve follows a progression parallel to the power curve. This means performance can be 'docile' for normal commuting or fairly sporting when the mood dictates. All in all simply a 'winner' Well done MG UK and SAIC !!
