Extremely good ride, low road noise, comfortable seats, durable (my BX 19TGD Estate is 18 years old and just run in!), cheap to maintain, very economical - over 50 mpg over entire life, flexible forgiving engine with loads of low rev. torque, great visiblility, wide doors giving really easy access, ...

The Citroen BX 19 TGD is not a bad car,but seriously find a mechanic who honestly knows what he's doing before you get it. I don't know how you will know he knows though. so good luck if you buy it.

The Citroen BX GTi 16V was a funny car. I had it while my Rover 216 was having a new head fitted from a CRX. I drive into this petrol station near where I used to go to school, see one of my high school sweethearts, open the door, and it falls off onto the forecourt! Sums this car up..

The Citroen BX 19 is a much misunderstood car, ride over rough roads is unbeatable, robust engines, 38 - 50mpg this is my 3rd one and will have to be replaced with a xantia. For all the negatives people say about citroens - I say find a good machanic and buy a decent one.

I have a '92 Citroen BX 19 TGD Estate. Does around 13.5 seconds 0-60mph, 105mph. Good non-turbo performance, excellent load lugger and still one of the most comfortable rides around.
