This was my first visit to the Haymarket Cinema in London. I had high expectations being in the West End, and to be fair the venue does have a lot of character and the seats were really comfortable and they'd made the best of an old building which I appreciated and quite liked. I understand that London cinemas will automatically charge more for tickets so the extra few £ wasn't unexpected.
What I was absolutely appaulled with though was the popcorn. We got one sweet and one salted, neither tasted of anything much. It was stale, chewy and has blatantly been sat in a store room for weeks before festering under the pathetic lights in the concessions stand for hours. And it cost £4.50 for a REALLY small bag. That's outrageous. And they wonder why people are starting to sneak their own snacks in? I'm never purchasing any kind of food or drink from Cineworld again, and highly reccommend you don't either.
I've submitted a complaint to customer services as by the time I returned with the full bag of uneaten popcorn after the movie they couldn't even offer me a refund or any sort of apology. Fingers crossed for a reply at least, though I'm not holding out much hope.
