I went in with an excerpt I'd got online about a herbal alternative for a steroid I'd recently been prescribed. I didn't want to take any more steroids to clear up my wheeziness. The woman I saw looked at it then disregarded it. I opted for a consultation for £5. That all seemed ok til the end when I was told I'd need some herbal mixture that cost £40 and some acupuncture for £40. I initially showed an interest in the acupuncture But then felt uneasy- they wr're really pushing me- so I said I couldn't afford it and they started knocking the price down. I bluntly said I don't have that kind of money - I do but I just didn't want to give it to them as I felt they were unethical and only interested in taking my money. They wouldn't accept I had no money! One of them said 'well you said you were interested in acupuncture a minute ago when you knew how much it was so how come you can't afford it now?' which really got my back up. How dare she! My money my choice what I do with it.
A horrible experience and I'll never go in again. I'm sure there must be reputable Chinese doctors/herbalists- but this lot aren't. They're rip off merchants. Steer well clear. But if you insist on going plead poverty. It's amazing how £40 became £20 and how something you needed to take for 6 weeks was replaced with something cheaper you could get away with taking for one week. They just want your money- any amount just as long as its something. Horrible place.
