I have been using a few chatsites over the years and this is one of the better ones (I also wrote a negative review on noesis chat so you can chat that as well). Well UKchatterbox is better than a few others I had an opportunity to use, first of all there is one big reason for it: it is full of people! and that says something.
There are a lot of various rooms though it could be improved. There are rooms for everyone s taste, but for instance interest room choice could be a bit expanded and city choice could be narrowed down. I mean not every city needs to have their own chat room and then you have 10 people in it, I think regions would be sufficient...that is just an idea. But rooms such as Goth room, Christian room, Music room, Paranormal room, Biker s room are an interesting choice of interest rooms for sure. Some others though have no much meaning, such as Lagoon room etc. There are quiz chat rooms that have quiz going on all the time which is very nice for people who like that.
Now, a lot of complaints in the reviews on this chat are about the moderators. Almost everyone complains about them lol, and they are right. I can understand it is a tough task as they receive abuse from chatters all the time, but they just dont do it well enough. They do not seem to care to find out who s causing trouble but immediately kick or ban the person who has been reported by most probably someone who deserves a ban themselves. That is a very typical behavior for mods. Of course there will always be someone who is not satisfied with how mods treat the chatters. We should of course be grateful that there are people who want to put some time aside to help moderate these rooms and not being paid for it, but they should do it with more heart. Freedom of speech in these rooms is minimum and mods do not seem to be very educated folks as the spelling of some of them is bad and they do not seem to differ someone who is joking from someone who is disturbing the room etc, they dont care for fine nuances and yet at the same time very crude and rude people seem to have a special treatment and are allowed to speak as they wish and are used to. Etc etc, rules could be clearer and simpler, and of course a lot of improvement could be make in all areas, but I d say this is one of better chat rooms and it has a great forum as well, very lively and includes various topics. Overall rating is 4 out of 5.
