This is a fine saw for those less than professional loggers among us. With 8 wooded acres and wood heat I needed a real saw. This one was recommended by a logger friend and he was right, it's the right saw for me. It eats through wood with ease, is easy to handle, starts up one pull, is simple to maintain and seems likely to last years.
As a newcomer to saws and wood heat I went through several cheap saws on purpose...better to beat a cheap one than a good one as I figured out how to use a saw. And now I know why one would spend $500 rather than $130. I used several high end saws as I researched chainsaws. All were viable machines. But the 5005 fit all my needs best and so, today I own a 5105.
