Disappointed @shirehorse

went to the shire horse pub at maidenhead for lunch today ( father in laws 81 st birthday) not very busy 12:45 pm no staff behind bar!
Eventually duty manager turned up and served ( dark haired lady)
Mixed seafood starter, very poor, never seen so much frozen pre- breaded lumps of indeterminate fish, I should have eaten it all because what followed was virtually inedible.
Two roast dinners turned up cold, the chefs special ( hold your head in shame) duck salad,how could quality ingredients be treated with such a lack of respect.
Waited for over an hour for the food to arrive, then waited a further hour for drinks."truly awful service'
If it hadn't been a family occasion I would have complained more at the time ( by the way my complaint didn't change the level of service in any way, if you care about your business, get a grip of the staff at this establishment or it will surely fail.
This is the first time I have ever been annoyed enough to write a review.
