“Good product but poor customer experience”

I purchased some thick breathable rubber mats to line our cold cellar floor and lift wood etc up off the (occasionally damp) floor. A friend uses a similar thing in his garage and it looked smart, so I found what I wanted on Floormats.co.uk and put in an order. It's a reasonably-sized cellar, so it was 13 mats and the price of the order wasn't cheap either at £280. “Be aware of the return prices!”

I ordered 3 small stairs treads from floormats.co.uk. The quality was ok but I found them unusable as the depth of the treads was too small and it made the walking feel unsafe (as you step on the tread's edge). I wanted to return the product and that's when I figured out that the return address is to Germany and it would cost me at least 9 GBP to do that! “Rogue German trader flouting UK law”

I returned two unused office chair floormats to this company who deducted both delivery and return postage costs from my refund. This amounted to a clear breach of the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 covering internet trading, that requires the full purchase price to be refunded. Potential customers should note that this is a German company operating in the UK from a registered address that would appear to be that of an accountant's office, making any legal claim against them... I bought 3 mats from this company and specifically the one on this link (the transparent mat under the chair on the laminated floor) When the mats arrived they all had a blue tint on them which has nothing to do with the transparency expected from the product picture. This made the product pointless and useless to me as the mat is too noticeable and ugly. I ordered a custom made mat from them. All I got was a length of mat that had been hacked with a pair of scissors and fraying. They are based in Germany and they basically said "yah boo sucks" - so beware! I wish I could show you a picture of what they sent me so you could see how bad it is. They won't take it back and all I can do with it is bin it, chalk it up to experience and warn other people that this is NOT a UK company despite the .co.uk and they are NOT good people to deal with. After reading some negative reviews of the company on this site, I have to tell you of my positive experience with them. I was extremely happy with the customer service at Floormats. I was given the job of ordering custom mats for my bosses business and I have no design ability at all. I was recommended by a friend to use floormats. I needed a mat for underneath my office chair that would protect my carpet. the mat is great, it protects my carpet and gives my chair more maneuvarability. My floormat for carpets has developed a crack after 5 months. When tried to claim under warranty, told this is normal, should have bought one for hard floors. Not good enough. My carpet has 10mm pile and luxury underlay. When I complained about their reply, the company ignored me. (read more)

My husband installed these beautiful wood stairs in our foyer leading upstairs. As gorgeous as they look, they immediately started to show signs of wear on the front edge so we started looking for a way to protect them from damage.
