“Carpetright Kendal estimator”

Written on: 23/03/2013

The estimator turned up stinking of stale beer as they had already taken a deposit from us we had no choice but to continue with the quote. On the day the fitters were arriving they turned up with half of our carpet sticking out of their van it was wet they didn't take their shoes off and my wife had to clean our stairs carpet, down the side of the carpet you can see the floor. When I complained to the manager she told me "who looks down their anyway" and then said she had a customer and... (read more)

“Huge mistake going to Carpetright”

Written on: 23/01/2013

My fault for not researching this company so I made a HUGE mistake and went to Carpetright...........please don`t!. The vinyl when it arrived looked nothing like the sample. We chose a black and white pattern and the white part looks as if it has dirty smudges all over it. The fitters were AWFUL. Our paperwork differed from theirs, they didn`t even have the basic materials on their vans so couldn`t do the job properly. Bits around the edges jagged and missing, even I was shocked at the... “The worst ever service for expensive products ”

Written on: 13/01/2013

I have purchased carpet, laminate flooring and vinyl to cover the whole two bedroom house. Althought I bought everything on sale, the end price still seemed more expensive than other retailers in the area. Because CarpetRight are a big company and I thought they will deliver a good service, I went ahead and purchased the materials from them. Everything went down the hill from there. They have not delivered the materials in time. When they eventually came to fit the carpets, laminate... (read more)

“7 weeks to fit a carpet, shocking service”

Written on: 04/01/2012 by Knowitall1975 (2 reviews written)

I bought my carpet from storeys carpets at blackpool who i later found out are owned by carpetright. It took them 7 weeks to fit my stairs carpet and that was only after chasing them weekly and finally threatening to cancel the order. They never called me once. They initially tried to fit the wrong carpet and then they wanted me to keep it! I complained to their head office and was told to get in touch with trading standards if I wasn't happy. - fabulous customer service! The carpet is ok... (read more)

“I didn't know they did tiling”

Written on: 04/10/2011 by CeceW (3 reviews written)

Until a friend suggested that we go there, we didn't know that they did tiles and tiling for kitchens and things. really handy actually as my partner is a bit of a handy girl so she sorted it all out for us. Anyway, they were pretty decently priced and lovely design. I really hadn't thought of themf or tiles, but if you're looking, then i would check it out as they are really very good. thanks (read more)

“A bit more expensive but seems worth it”

Written on: 20/09/2011 by AliWakeley (3 reviews written)

we bought a new massive rug to go on our floorboards in july as we've been doing up the lliving room, and it's really nice. As i say, a bit more expensive than if you got off ebay, but at least you can try out what your getting. 6 weeks after delivery and it's kept its thickness and is really good. would recommend because you know what your getting. “they came to measure”

Written on: 07/09/2011

we have a lovely local carpetright and having decided to replace our carpet-on-concrete combo with wooden flooring, we were really surprised when, having brought the measurements in, they actually came to measure the floors before coming to fit them. I kind of thought we'd give them a rough idea and they'd bring enough for that, but the guy came out, went and got the flooring, then came back. Much more like a local service than the ussual big national companie who usually don't really... (read more)

“Helped us in our insurance claim”

Written on: 23/08/2011 by FlossieJ (3 reviews written)

We had a whole tin of paint go over our carpet a few months back and had to claim it through the insurers. So we went to carpetright and asked them about whether they take insurance vouchers, and they were really helpful! You kind of don't expect it really, as i just assume everyone wants to get the most money out of you possible, but the people in the Haywards Heath branch were super helpful. They explained what i could get and that like-for-like was actually more expensive, so now we've... (read more)

“Carpet Right, Although A Better Description Carpet Wrong!”

Written on: 13/06/2011 by tafer2uk (16 reviews written)

Paid nearly £500 pound for cushion floor fitting in our kitchen, within 6 months we noticed it was starting to go mouldy. Carpet Right refused to admit a problem, hid behind third party contractors that they arranged to fit. Undeterred I contacted an independent expert only to be told that there are no minimum standards for vinyl flooring unlike carpets. Basically we are left with a £500 piece of cushion floor that has gone mouldy and have been dumped by Carpet Right's none existent... (read more)

Guest's Response to tafer2uk's Review

Written on: 16/06/2011

Dear Tafer2UK, We're really sorry you fel so disappointed. There ARE standards for fitting vinyl (BS 8203) and we know the independent fitters complied with these. However, mould develops in dampness and has nothing to do with the vinyl or its fitting. Dampness does not always mean wetness or a leak, but suggests you may need to investigate what is causing this and if you need our help to uplift the vinyl whilst this is checked please contact the fitter again or our store and we will do what we can. Thanks for buying from us an we hope you can get this resolved. Regards. Carpetright Customer Services.
