For a number of reasons, I have to have a reliable steam cleaner in my house. Apart from dealing with stubborn grunge, they're very useful for dispatching dustmites and other allergens in the environment without the need to use harsh chemicals. They're also a Godsend when you have as many dogs as I do and the odd 'accident' happens. I've bought several different makes over the years and I'm now totally sold on the Vax V085 Compact Steam Cleaner. It's neatly small, light to carry but performs as well as any steamer I've ever had. I've tried all the attachments that come with it and found that they do what they are supposed to do. The only suggestion I would make to Vax is that they put a label or number each of the attachments so that when you are new to the machine you know which attachment to use for whichever job you're tackling. Also, since so many houses now have laminate flooring, an attachment like the carpet cleaner but without the brush part would be most useful. For the price I paid for this machine, it's very good value for money and compares very favourably with the machine that I paid over £200 for. I know Vax have a good reputation for the sturdy manufacture of their cleaning equipment, so I have no worries that if in the future the V085 needs a repair I can get it done at a reasonable price. Well done Vax - again!
