Thumbs Up to Motorholme

Never hired a motor home before but then we never had a cat before. He is part of the family and if we go away then so should he - have cat will travel....
Not many hire companies are sympathetic to animal lovers but Motorholme are.
One thing they could have told us before instead of after is that it is far better to hire the 4/5 berth for 2/3 people than go for the 2/3 people. We hired the Ford Chausson and found it just a little cramped as I like my space so we should have had the larger model.
Everything was great on the pick up at Gatwick with a nice gentleman to show my partner the workings on the home.
I was apprehensive about the cleanliness firstly as not only had this been rented to people we had no idea of but also was animal friendly. Armed with my flea spray and bucket and cloth I was extremely surprised at the lovely fresh and clean condition it was in including a nice looking mattress. It was fully equipped with everything that you needed for cooking including pepper and salt and the saucepans were actually brand new with the packing still in them. Same goes for the cleaning products. Everything worked well during our hire and we had no problems.
A previous comment on the reviews complains about the time lapse in the return of the deposit - yes, this is niggling as I have been without my £1250 from the beginning of March and will be until the end of April and was not told this but of course it could well have been in the small print! I do understand why this deposit is kept. It is held for a period of time in case there has been a Road Traffic violation or an accident with a third party that the customer has not informed Motorholme of and hopefully any such occurrence would appear within this time period so hey ho all part of the game of hiring - if you don't like it then buy your own motor home which we may well do one day but will probably hire from Motorholme again before we make the decision.
