“Thank you ”

Written on: 21/08/2015 by Ian.ryan (1 review written)

We have just purchased our first Caravan from Wandahome a swift ace diplomat, the service was excellent and the person I dealt with answered all our questions. Time was spent on the day we picked up the caravan going over the the caravan, and have been very helpful since. A good thing for me was that at no point was I pushed it to purchasing the caravan or any additional item. All staff have been very helpful. Would recommend Wandahome for anyone looking to purchase a caravan. Thank … Read Full Review

“Wonderful Service”

Written on: 02/08/2015 by Maya376 (1 review written)

We recently purchased a new caravan and lots of accessories here and were very impressed by the service and knowledgeable assistance from the sales staff. We were looked after by an adviser who was incredibly helpful and enthusiastic without being at all the pushy salesman one often finds when making a large purchase. I have no doubt that if there are any unexpected issues with the van he will be able to help and despite the distance I will be happy to do business at Wandahome again… Read Full Review

“caravan repair”

Received excellent service from Wandahome Sth Cave, particularly impressed by Nigel who negotiated a free repair on our caravan even though it was outside the guarantee period. This service encouraged me to purchase a more expensive caravan from Wandahome in future which I have now completed as I can be sure of excellent service in future… Read Full Review

“BUYER BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A PX”

Written on: 21/06/2015 by Watsonca472 (1 review written)

Whilst at this years caravan show at the NEC we took the plunge and bought a brand new caravan at the NEC from Wandahomes South Cave. We had thought we had a fair deal as another dealer was offering us £5000 for our PX and Wandahome were offering £5,500. It was enough for us to take the plunge so we signed up and paid the £2000 deposit. That was as far as the good news ends. We were told someone would contact us within a couple of weeks of the end of the show, THEY DID'T. We had to chase… Read Full Review

Today I have an update.
After consulting with Citizens Advice we were told that under the Consumer Protection regulations you have 90 days from collecting the van to returning it if you feel you have concerns over the px and you feel you were bullied in to a decision there and then. This was something we considered and wrote to Wandahome to express our concerns over what had happened (This was a standard letter on the Citizens Advice website that we used with the relevant information). We received a reply inviting us in to look over our old van, a 2005 Bailey 510/4 with motor mover, and meet with one of the directors.
We arrived and looked over the van with him and he showed us the cracks on the front and some on the back of the van. He said to be fair that these did not concern him. He then showed me the area where the damp was. He explained that they would need to replace this panel and would take around 25 man hours to do at a cost of over £2,000. Before the meeting I had been on the Bailey website to see how much replacement wallboard paper and tape was to buy for this job. Based on the two panels you are looking at £70 for 5m of wallboard paper and £49 for the tape. Add on two pieces of marine ply at £30 per section you are looking at a total material cost of £180 leaving £1,820 on labour or £72.80 per hour.
We sat and talked to him for half an hour over the whole incident and he gave us two options which were to return the van we had bought for a full refund and we could take our van back or have a refund of £400. We asked if this could be increased to £500 if we sent it in the onsite shop and he agreed to this. We spent 30 minutes looking round the shop and decided to accept the offer of the £500 to spend in the shop. We really wanted £1000 but we could see we weren't going to get this.
He was a very nice gentleman and gave us the option of returning the van and taking our old van away so for me we couldn't have asked for more than that. Our dealings with Wandahome South Cave were positive.
Thanks

“Moving on to the next caravan”

Written on: 20/06/2015 by BobScutt (1 review written)

We were extremely happy with the overall service we received from Wandahome. Our first contact with a salesman as we wandered around was not at all intrusive, he was well informed and helpful when needed. The sale itself went smoothly with plenty of coffee and good support. The deal was sealed quickly with agreement reached on a fair deal for our part exchange caravan. Open collection, and dropping off our old van, we were met by the salesman we knew, then others checked over the old van while… Read Full Review

“Took delivery of a new Ace Diplomat 2 weeks ago and...”

Written on: 17/06/2015 by Sadiron (1 review written)

Took delivery of a new Ace Diplomat 2 weeks ago and discovered on our first trip two relatively minor problems. 1. A leaking kitchen tap around the base. 2. The stay on the kitchen window had not been screwed into the frame and thus would not remain in an open position. Contacted after sales on Friday 12th June and van booked in for Monday 15th late am. No guarantee of when the jobs would be completed, but received a phone call within 2 hours to say the van was ready to collect. New tap fitted… Read Full Review

“caravan service/warranty”

Written on: 12/06/2015 by baileyman (1 review written)

I purchased a Bailey Orion from Wandahome and have had it serviced by them for the last three years - on the last occasion they advised me that the van was showing damp in the rear offside corner floor area - they then advised that they would contact Bailey and subsequently process a claim - I provided all the relevant paperwork but advised that we had imminent holidays booked with the van - they told us to go away and enjoy the holiday and on return to drop the van in with them upon which it… Read Full Review

“Be Careful”

Written on: 06/06/2015 by ClaraFinnegan (1 review written)

Just a word of warning really. We were offered a deal on a caravan which we very nearly accepted. The Sales man assured us that it had been checked for damp when they processed the caravan so should be ok. There were no obvious signs of damp either. It was only the fact that i insisted that i wouldnt buy the van without some reassurance on damp, that the salesman apparantly looked further into it. Amazingly, after a further damp test by them, they found a large reading of damp. I am very… Read Full Review

“Caravan Warranty”

Wandahome agreed to carry out work on my caravan when the company I bought it from were reluctant to do so. Wandahome were not obligated to do the work and this saved me a long journey back to Preston, and a lot of Hassle. The service was fast and friendly and I was given advice and instruction on the operation of my new van… Read Full Review

“Service with a smile :-)”

Written on: 03/05/2015 by manfrommadrid (1 review written)

We have been dealing with Wandahome since February 2013, when we bought our first caravan, a Bailey Unicorn II, from them at the NEC show (for a very good price, incidentally!) All the staff have been friendly, courteous and helpful on every visit. Any problems have been quickly and efficiently resolved, and always with a cheerful demeanour. Even if there is a problem with your caravan, it's always a pleasure to visit the site, as you are always assured of a warm welcome. … Read Full Review

“New Caravan Trauma!”

We purchased our new Swift Corniche from the NEC October 14 and asked for a delivery date of mid March, we also had a second hand van to part ex and agreed a price with the salesman, obviously without the van being seen and subject to inspection. As the time drew closer we contacted Wandahome to be told that the date was not possible so after a few sulks we agreed a new date of 2nd April 15. We arrived earlier than our booked time and was pleasantly surprised when we were told no worries, our… Read Full Review

“Help for beginners”

Written on: 16/04/2015 by Harveywressle (1 review written)

As a new recruit to caravanning I purchased a vintage caravan from Wandahome and was very grateful for the help received from the salesman. I fell for Avondale Mayfly instantly but having no experience as a single person embarking on this new way of life I was clueless. I need not have worried as he fixed everything for me before collection. I then went on my way for the maiden trip to find out how everything worked and was busy learning the ups and downs. Unfortunately a few niggles appeared… Read Full Review
