Found the ideal caravan at The Caravan Company[ Reading ],[60 miles from our home in Fareham] but with some problems that needed fixing.
The main problem was the bouncy/spongy and squeaky floor between the kitchen area and fridge.Obviously we were concerned about delamination .
Our salesman listed the fault on our sales invoice for work needed.
Many weeks later on the agreed handover day,we arrived to collect the caravan to discover that the floor problem hadn't been resolved.The manager of the branch said that the spongy floor couldn't be fixed - he said two workshops had looked at it and decided that nothing could be done.We were very surprised at this.Our friends had a similar problem and their dealer's workshop had repaired it .
We were very annoyed that we had not been contacted before the day of collection and told that one of the problems had not be resolved.I accept that perhaps I should have rung them also to confirm.
We did not accept the caravan and had wasted a whole day[ took time off work] and fuel.
A GREAT SHAME - WE LOVED THE CARAVAN .We were happy to accept the valuation for our caravan. Was it the cost of the repair that prevented The Caravan Company from having two very happy caravanners and a totally different review of their company?
We wish we knew .
