Bought my Van in 2013. Bought a Fendt Mayfair 700 firstly and was told by them that it was legal and fine on the UK roads. Tried to get insurance but was told by the insurance company that it is illegal to tow a caravan that length if not with a commercial vehicle. Asked for my money back as the van had never left their yard and he offered me £1,000 less !!! Bought a smaller van from him which thank god has been fine since, but he is nothing more than a shister. I reckon any good reviews here are written by themselves or friends.

RECENTLY BROUGHT A CARAVAN FROM MILFORD CARAVAN PARK LTD ADVERTISED IN AUTO TRADER NO WONDER THEIR NOT ON EBAY AS STARS WOULD BE ZERO. THIS CARAVAN WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED MANY FAULTS, TRANSPORT WAS NOT ON A LOW LOADER BUT A CAR WHICH BROKE DOWN AND HAD TO BE PICK UP,TRADING STANDARDS HAS SAID I CAN NOT SELL THE CARAVAN ON AS THE CONDITION IS SO POOR IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE USING IT. ASKED FOR REFUND BUT NO LUCK AS IT WAS SOLD AS SEEN. THE CONDITION IS SO BAD I WOULDNT EVEN LEAVE MY DOG IN IT.I WISH I HAD READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE PURCHASING

This outfit seems to be comprised of two businesses, one who deals with the German caravans and one with English ones. My experience is with the latter (actually a sole trader by the looks of it), but my limited telephone contact with the former suggests a similarly unprofessional approach (according to him, towing mirrors are completely voluntary and the proprietor doesn't see fit to use them even with the biggest German vans!). That said, my experience is not good. On the basis that they had just the van I was looking for I paid a £200 deposit to secure it for the few days it would take me to get there. When I got there the perfect van I had secured apparently didn't exist, and it transpired that the wealth of caravans with onboard water tanks I had been promised didn't have onboard water tanks at all. I eventually chose a caravan which looked nice and was assured that everything was working. After paying by bank transfer as the basis for a reduced price, I was hurried out of the yard and the receipt was slipped to my girlfriend while I was otherwise engaged. I see now that he had good reason to get me on my way and as far away as possible before I made any discoveries about what I had purchased! Firstly, the receipt slipped to my girlfriend states that it was sold as for spares or repair and needs to be uplifted from the yard on a transporter. This is actually an accurate description, but not at all the basis on which it was sold to me; I am guessing that all his receipts state this so as to get him off the hook if questions are raised later. The price he wanted would have been about right if it were in good condition and the age it was advertised as, and the price I knocked him down to was right for the age it actually is (two years older!) in good condition. The actual condition, however, is anything but good, I was later to discover. The list of faults is long, including a completely non-functioning fridge and air heater and a water heater which has actually had the gas burner module removed completely, meaning that as soon as the gas is connected it just escapes into the air at a fast rate. Only one hob is working and there are also other gas leaks. The caravan has also suffered damp damage in the walls. The caravan engineer who I have had look at it tells me it is not worth spending any money on it, as it is essentially worthless. The fridge is actually beyond repair. It is, in short, a scrap caravan sold and priced as a working one. Needless to say he has refused to give my money back. Do not even think of going near this place.

Do yourself a favour and take heed of the other reviews, I wish I did. Nightmare from the start. Assured over the phone that the caravan was as described. Collected it and after the owner reluctantly connecting the caravan it was apparant that the air heater didn't work. Told that the '2 year guarantee' would cover it and would be sorted. Got to site to find toilet cassette missing, shower cubicle cracked and leaking, Fridge tripped all electrics when switched on... Milford didn't want to know. The guarantee is worthless. I instructed the Finance company to deal with it - Milford then claimed I had threatened them and all sorts of nonsense. In the end I lost £2k in a matter of weeks dealing with them. Bought for £10k and independant trade in was valued at £6k on the basis of the condition.

After numerous phone calls to confirm this caravan was as good as the pictures, and having been advised there was absolutely nothing to worry about, we made an 11 hour 501 mile round trip to view this caravan and part exchange our current hobby. Outside caravan general condition was minging- all 4 wheels badly scratched. Electric socket hanging off, back locker seal burst and bedroom side window cracked at both ends,as well as one of the outside fake black windows coming off. That's even before we got inside. The stench of wee was overpowering, most seats had at least one button missing under the plastic covers. Fixed bed at rear broken. Partition bedroom divider broken. Door handles broken, kitchen taps & door handles all damaged and would need replaces. No table for front bed or cushion to make into a bed. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole. All I was looking for was a clean and tidy caravan, as ours is. Appreciate caravan was not new, but the condition in the advert was described as good interior & out. No way- extremely poor for both.

Firstly, do not demean your customers. I am not your Darling
Secondly - you have never spoken to my husband on the phone or in person,
thirdly your advert "claims" the caravan was in good condition inside and out, utter codswallop..... My 2010 is immaculate compared to this. I had specified the exact model of caravan I was looking for. I am more than happy to pay for a caravan which is as advertised. I totally agree with you - you only get what you pay for and this hobby 700 is most certainly not even worth the price you reduced it to after our visit. I would suggest amending your advert to poor condition, at least this will stop you misleading other customers.

Hi there is your 2010 caravan a hobby 700 Vip premium, if so we could be interested in buying it from you rather than you having to rely on trading it in. We 'were' going to look at the same one as you did and appreciate your feedback. It has saved me wasting 2 days. If it is and you are interested in selling please provide some contact details. Many thanks

Myself and my boyfriend were looking for a caravan and decided to take advantage of the New Year's Day sale that was recently on. We went down and found a caravan we loved. It all looked great and seemed to have no issues. When we asked if there were any issues or anything we needed to know about we were told that there was nothing and everything was fine. We asked if they had all the keys for the caravan and were told yes, all the keys were there. Satisfied with this we decided to buy the caravan and got a great deal, even managing to get free delivery. Imagine our surprise then when the caravan was delivered to us today and we discovered that not only was the lock on the door broken so we could not even lock the thing, but the keys provided do not even fit one lock on the whole caravan! When we called the dealership to ask about this we were told it was not their problem and they seemed to completely disregard the fact that they had told us there were no issues or anything we should know about. We then discovered that the step and caravan leg winder we were promised would be thrown in were not in the caravan. Again when we called about this we were told that we would have to come and pick it up ourselves which was not possible as we live miles away and do not own a car. Overall these people are basically bad and I would not trust them again or recommend them to anyone. They are nothing but a bunch of liars and conmen and we are now having to spend extra money fixing the issues we were not warned about. There was also no tank in the chemical toilet, despite the fact that I am certain there was one when we initially looked at it. Do not waste your money on these idiots.

The trader will recommend that you 'satisfy yourself with the condition and features within the caravan, and not rely upon any sales literature or verbal statements made about the van, as neither are part of the purchase contract'. Therefore ensure that all items described: exist, are in working condition etc. The dealer admits never having owned or used a caravan, so cannot advise on how to use, how it works etc.. thereby ensuring that you satisfy yourself. Therefore sales literature that uses of terms such as 'excellent mechanical condition' 'excellent internal condition' and 'excellent external condition' have no meaning what so ever.
