“Death trap!! Trading standards called me today!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ChrisCad on 14/01/2015

I brought a car from them in July 2013! I P/X'd my perfectly functional Renault Clio in which he ripped me off and tried selling for over twice what he gave me for it. As well as this he charged me hundreds of pounds on top of it for a Renault Laguna, with more miles than it stated. My own fault for not noticing I Know! He then tried charging me hundreds here and there for paperwork things that were missing. The reason I needed a new car is because I had a new 2 week old baby! The car they sold me, and helped me with baby seat etc. and even met my 2 week old daughter, had dodgy breaks which sometimes didn't even work, and the car would lose power unexpectedly, and also when ever the Indicators went on! Not very good when losing power going round roundabouts or on the motorway! I couldn't believe these sick people (Stan) would knowingly put a whole family, including a 2 week olds life in danger. Anyway I went to trading standards and had honestly not thought anything of it, until today, 18 months later they called me saying the case was progressing through court! They are calling me back with details again so if anyone wants to contact them or add any more evidence against them then let me know. Hopefully people are still looking at this site. Thank you.

“finance unpaid”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Gideonp1981 on 06/06/2014

We sold a car which still had finance on, the manager at woolston car supermarket assured us he would settle the finance. This all occurred in October last year after numerous phone calls to the car sales and the finance company it is still not paid and we are now facing legal action!!!!! Cannot believe these people can be so evil and are still ripping people off. We have taken legal advice and are awaiting the outcome although I don't hold out much hope.

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

written by PC-Annoyed on 07/02/2014

FIRST AND FOREMOST AVOID WOOLSON CAR SUPERMARKET LIKE THE PLAGUE. I was looking for a reasonably cheap car for my son when I saw an advert for Peugeot 306 with 12 Mth MOT and 6 Mth warranty as advertised by Woolston Car Supermarket. We live nearly 60 miles away but decided to pay a visit. When we arrived the car was dirty but just needed a clean. However it had not been mot’d and we were told that a new mot would be provided along with a 6 month warranty. We negotiated a price (£1850) and paid a £200 deposit. It would take the garage 2 ot3 days to get the MOT done and some other remedial work. They also agreed to deliver the car to our chosen location. Anyway, after three days we were told all was OK and when the balance (£1650) was paid to them, they would deliver the car the next day. This we did but no car delivered. After 3 – 4 weeks and much shouting they delivered the car – but no new MOT or any evidence that they had tried to get it MOT’d. After threatening legal action and me providing a cost estimate for the MOT, they agreed both verbally and in writing that they would underwrite the costs. We had the car MOT’d and I provided them with the invoice. Guess what – 3 months on and still no repayment, or warranty or Registration document. After engaging a debt collecting agency I subsequently learnt that he had 2 judgments against him already for £146 and £2280 on 22 and 7 November 2013 respectively. Woolston Car Supermarket are completely untrustworthy, as are the rest of his team. If anyone wants to join forces and go after this rogue feel free to add something to this review section.

We brought a car from Stan in January 2013 from a place called Southampton trade centre which was situated on the Same site as his others ! Lies after lies our car lost power and jolted violently in the Duel carriageway with my 5 year old in the back . Frightened the life out of us all ! Stan told us it was a safety feature ! 3 days later same again ! This time nearly causing a collision With a lorry ! Paid for own diagnostics with renault came back With 4 error codes and needed valves replacing In gear box had a quote of £900 Stan said he would fix and gave us a courtacy car Which was a ford focus that looked like I had been pulled From a river ! Mouldy and damp inside with rubbish Strewn on seats and footwells would not even put my Child in it ! 4 days later we got our car back and have since had to replace Window switches / sensors and light sensors and various diagnostics As stan stopped answering calls and texts ! Paid £2800 for this car an have cost lots more in repair !

Exactly the same as the other reviews which is quite astounding really that no one has taken this company to a small claims court, we'll I have, I've spoken to trading standards and got an 8 page narrative, evidentiary support to back this up , witness statements and a hell of a lot paperwork signed by the manager of the car supermarket. They will already of been served court papers and now just waiting for a reply. I will not back down and I've made sure they are still in the same place which is on hazel road in Southampton. I will also print of these reviews and place these in front of the judge so he can see how many good hard working people are getting treated like this by them. I will update on this when I get an outcome on this but I urge you to pay £95 and take him to court as if you have as much evidence as I have then what have you got to lose.

Go through trading standards and they help you with all your paperwork and they written a narrative in order and put all my evidence so it's looks and sounds professional, I then paid £95 to the small claims court and they sent them a letter saying they had 2 weeks to comply. It's a start and il carry on till I get what I want

Unfourtunately a lot of people have taken them to a small claims court even going back to early last year. They have had 5 limited companies they've opened and ceased trading over the past year. They have ignored unpaid ccjs and because they cease trading of a limited company it is impossible to claim money from them - they know the loopholes. They have now ceased woolston car supermarket again and fled overnight so you won't find them on hazel road. They are now in fort wallington. You need to ask the court to lift the cooperate veil and sue the directors directly and not the company as you will not be successful with that. Search woolston car supermarket scam and there is a blog there with lots of info and evidence. Good luck I hope it goes well.

“AVOID!! WOOLSTON CAR SUPERMARKET/ FORT WALLINGTON CAR...”

written by on 22/01/2014

I would give them 0 stars if it were possible!! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!! I know they are no longer woolston car supermarket but are trading as Fort Wallington Car sales - they seem to think they could make a dissapearing act in the middle of the night and move all their cars. I've heard so so many stories of them turning customers literally to TEARS outside their premises. The police and trading standards have been informed by many people but still not taking notice. we're hoping that the daily echo taking this up will bring more attention to these kretins and encourage authorities to make a difference! THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!! my story is very similar to many others - bought a car 4 months ago... it broke down right after... they said theyd repair it... took it back... broke down AGAIN... back to the garage... car didnt ever get repaired and is STILL sat in the garage not road worthy...they also have our part exchanged car which they refuse to give back even though we have recieved no money or no car and no refund!!! THey have even given death threats to my family!!! threatening to send thugs around and to stab us! DONT TRUST A SINGLE WORK THAT COMES OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS. These guys have had 5 different companies in the past year! obviously to avoid any costs if legal action is taken. The word needs to get out there to stop them from trading!!! I hope they get what they deserve!!!!!!!!!!!! SPEAAAKK OUT!!!

Have gone by names such as Motorpoint Car Sales, hampshire vehicle sales, Woolston Car Supermarket. Currently trading as Fort Wallington Car Sales on autotrader and as dealer "sales" on Vivastreet. If you call them they pass themselves off as South Coast Car sales and Fareham Car Centre. Do not buy from them . Do not sell to them.

Hi. I bought a car from Woolston Car Supermarket which is under the Directorship of a Stan Rudgly. Long story short the car has had issues ever since I bought it. After some digging on Google searches and finding out other names associated with Woolston Car Supermarket a few names keep appearing. I have created a Blog post for others top share their experiences with and hopefully by doing this others will not get caught out by this dodgy outfit. Woolston Car Supermarket is no longer their but I have no doubt they will set this up again. Please take a look and share so we can spread the word as much as possible and rid the car sales market of this cretin.

I hear the echo are on there case.
I am told they are on there 4th company since Feb 2013 and the authorities are doing nothing.

I also bought a car from Woolston car Supermarket and was finally delivered a completely different car than I had bought! The car that was dropped off up the road from where I live, by truck, they would not have been able to drive it to me because it is a scrap vehicle.
They refuse to answer any calls or emails as they already have my £2,500.00.
I am trying every avenue to try and get my money back from them.

“Was Woolston car supermarket now FORTWALLINGTONCARSALES ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 18/01/2014

Woolston car supermarket now moved to Fareham and trading as Fort Wallington Car sales. you can change your name but your still the same people. Bought a car from them in December pointed out a couple of things that were wrong with it when we looked at it, I was told these will be sorted. Picked up car over a week later the work was not done, try phoning they never answer the phone until the afternoon. Took the car back they had it for over a week and never done anything to it. try phoning again they never answer. They presumably booked the car in for repair at garage so checked with that garage for booking no its not booked in. went back to them. They told me it was another garage went to that garage no booking. Went back to Woolston car supermarket they pretend to phone up and confirm booking. Go to that garage next day no booking, go back to Woolston car supermarket they book it over the phone with another garage go to that garage and he said don’t like doing work for them will need payment before I can release the car after the work is done, try phoning Woolston car supermarket no answer so go over there and notice they have moved a lot of cars out, said to them about this they said they have taken them for mot and making space for new stock. Went back to garage and told him what’s going on, so never got the work done as I knew he would not go and pay for it. I’ve now had the work done at my expense (£350) and will be trying to recover it from them. We shall see. Went back to Woolston car sales in the evening six men there drinking beer and a nasty smell of the wacky baccy about. He was still in denial about moving premises. Got into a verbal confrontation with them and he then told me to get out of his office. So before buying a second hand car check the company is not owned by the same people.

I Have a source that has stated that they are now located in Winchester. Don't think they have just run had a call today from the owner offering to repair the faults to my car I brought at the start of December. He was very polite and has offered to collect my car and supply me with a replacement whilst mines in for repair. He said he had taken over the business in November and has been plagued by staffing problems and break ins since. He sounded very sorry and couldn't apologise enough. Lets hope he follows his word and collects my car as he said.

My partner and I have had all the same issues as everyone else.
We picked up the car last week and there was no tax and they assured us it was done and in the post along with the log book (was not given the temp slip) got home and phoned the police and DVLA and nothing was logged. phoned up all week and they promised "by tomorrow they will come and do it" as you can guess no luck. Drove down today and they had packed and gone spoke to the person who sold us the car on his mobile and he said he quit as they owed him money and they had moved to winchester as their building had been damage to roof etc.

“Woolston Car Supermarket - WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JWB56 on 11/01/2014

We purchased our car fom Woolston Car Supermarket in Southamptom in November. They were so nice and helpful over the phone even offered to bring the car to us in Northampton to save us a trip, thats nice we thought, how stupid we were !! He arrived 3 hours late (the traffic was terrible he says) by now it was dark (how convenient one of the managers told me later). We looked at the car as best we could. He offered us a no quibble warranty 12 months, it will cover everything or anything he told us. So we handed our money over. When we had the car washed we noticed a bit of rust. On looking closely there was loads of rust. We called and called and called. No answer. When we finally dig get through, only by using a friends mobile whose number they didn't know, we got promises of it all being fixed. We took the car down to them, they had it for a week, and were going to return the car to us by mid day on the Saturday, THey didn't turn up, we called and called. No answer. In the end we had to send a text theatening legal action at that point they called us. THe car wasn't ready yet so they needed it another week. 1 week later and they were going to bring the car back to us on the Wednesday, once again they just didn't turn up. We called and called again, eventually getting through, everything was fixed but they didn't have anyone available to deliver back to us. We rearranged again for the Friday. Again they just didnt turn up. Afer approximately 15-20 calls we managed to get through. We agreed to meet them half way to collect the vehicle. It turns out that they had not been able to fix the Sat Nav so gave us a cheque so we could buy a replacement system. Surprise Surprise it BOUNCED. More lies and dodging. We have now found out that all they did was spay over the top of the rust problem and all the paint has now peeled off. Great !! Whatever you do don't go near them. They will rip you off and drive you insane with their lies. We have forwarded on everything we have to trading standards, and we have engaged solitors under the sale of goods act. We also have contacts within VOSA who we have also put on the case. Let hope it gives them as much hassle as they give their Screamers as the staff cal the customers

“AVOID AT ALL COST! WORSE SERVICE WE'VE EVER HAD IN OUR...”

written by marcharris on 08/01/2014

Firstly I beg of anyone even considering to view a car at Woolston Car Supermarket to rethink instantly as this has been the worse most hair tearing out customer service experience my wife and I have ever had. I've never felt the need to write a bad review ever but this Southampton car company has driven us to despair. Rude, untrustworthy, full of false promises, there are so many ways I could describe the horror that this company really is. We bought a car way back last year and almost 4 months later STILL don't have it. After paying the full amount we were told it the car still needed an MOT and would be ready within a few days. Days turned to weeks and the days turned to months. They won't refund and when they finally pick up the phone they just make up excuse after excuse. They say they'll phone you back and not once in the 100+ calls we made did they ever return the call. They pretend to sound friendly on the phone but don't be fooled. We have approached the relevant authorities to help us get our money back but I fear this will drag on for many months to come.

Rule one...the key to having a successful business...be nice to your customers!!!! If they have asked you to call them back then caaaaalll them baaaack, especially if they have called you every day for the last month and you haven't bothered to. Bad customer service will pass between friends and family but service as outrageously horrid at this will spread like wild fire.

“Worst company I have ever encountered - AVOID”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SC1985 on 07/01/2014

I viewed a car on 04/11/13 which was advertised as having 12 months MOT and 3 months warranty. The car seemed suitable and the paperwork was sorted and cash was paid; Only after the transaction took place and they had my cash was I informed that I could not drive the car away there and then as it had to be put through an MOT which it failed. over the course of the next 4 weeks I was given excuse after excuse as to why the car was not ready; on a couple of occasions I was told it was ready to collect but upon attending the garage was told it was not. on another occasion I was told the vehicle had left the premises and was being delivered back to me, it did not arrive at my address and when I queried this the next day I was eventually told (after about 20 calls to the garage) that the vehicle was seen on the driveway of the person who had set off to deliver it back. The manager is rude and obnoxious, I was given a courtesy car after 2 weeks without the car I purchased after I went to the premises and refused to leave - the first car I was handed keys to had no tax! 4 weeks after purchase I received the car which apparently had welding done and an electrician had worked on it. Now the car is losing power, the off-side rear wheel seized and the brakes are making a grinding noise so I have requested the warranty details which I was given but the warranty company have no details of my car. The garage are fobbing me off every time I call. I cannot stress enough how stressful your life will become if you get involved with Woolston Car Supermarket they are the shabbiest backstreet garage I have ever come across; They have no sense of customer care and have told numerous lies - I look forward to a day when I no longer have any dealings with them but it may be a long while yet. I have scratched the surface of the issues with this company in this review.

Thanks - I finally got the warranty company details - the garage had failed to input some key data to submit the vehicle for warranty which is the most basic task for a garage that offers warranty on all their vehicles to do. i'm now having to get a diagnostics check and proceed by way of Autoprotect. I also forgot to mention in my review that the manager agreed to tax the vehicle then threw a bit of a hissy fit when I finally collected the car as it had not been taxed and he was blaming his staff shouting about not offering to tax in future at which point I reminded him that it was he who agreed to this - he stormed out to tax it and came back with a tax disc which i paid him for only to receive a letter from the post office stating that their cheque had bounced - so i'm also trying to pursue the cash I paid for the tax through the complaints process. I urge everyone to share this sites reviews on Facebook to get the word out about this shoddy garage

I went here to look for my first car. The people working here are not interested in helping customers, dont trust the website its literally shocking at this place. The car i was looking at was covered in bird droppings, stereo was ripped out, completely different spec to website and had a couple of flat tyres! If you own a garage or occasionally sell used cars i think its worth a trip so you could instantly feel better about your operation. I am embarrassed that i even went here, absolute joke!

“terrible car and service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 10/12/2013

To put it simply, I bought my car 6 weeks a go and the garage have actually had it for 5 of those weeks. False promises on things that were planning on being fixed when it was sold to me, I was told that the the advisory on the MOT of an oil leek was fixed, only to find oil on the floor outside my house after being parked for the night. I was told it would have a pre service sale which I would assume would have filled the oil and coolant, as soon as I got it home, I checked just to be sure and found the coolant was bone dry! Call everyday to 'the boss isn't in', they'll call me back, which they never do. They say they don't actually know where my car is so I can't even get my daughter's car seat out of the car. I will never use them again.
