'Can recommend Motorpoint, mostly because we're happy with the quality of the second hand car bought, plus the high standard of cleanliness, preparation and, in particular, its value for money. 

However, ​there is a Transport charge for cars brought from their other sites and a Pre-delivery fee, which both add to the price. These were not obvious before sitting down to discuss a deal and whilst they are a way of making the advertised price more attractive, could alienate customers and potentially lose a sale. 

Be that as it may, their bottom line cost still beat most of the other sites checked and the buying experience was much less fraught than that experienced at my local franchised main dealer when looking to buy a new car of the same type. This and the cost saving on new are why Motorpoint got my business.

The Sales, Collection and Admin staff at the site we dealt with are all easy to deal with and very polite. They also look after the transfer of 'cherished' registration plates with the DVLA at effectively no additional cost, as they supply a new set of Reg plates. we'd recommend using this service as all went very smoothly, even the very quick return of my deposit (taken against non return of my trade-in registration documents, which were returned to me by DVLA).

One further thing we'd like to mention is a local site was chosen in order to take a test drive as we had never driven one before, but we were immediately swept along with ordering one to be brought from another site as the first site did not have our colour preference. After completing the ‘ordering’ process and on leaving the sales area there was a near identical model amongst the cars on show and feel we could have been offered a test drive of this, but were not, which was disappointing.
After the car was transferred to our chosen site we were still unsure whether we wanted to buy it as we had never driven one. The collection staff were unaware that this was the basis of the deal struck with the salesman and, had we not liked the car we had made it clear that we were not prepared to purchase it. This should have been made clear to the 'collections' staff before we came to test drive it as they were expecting us to simply take the car (admittedly after a decent length of time to inspect it). A test drive of the model available on our first visit would potentially have saved both parties a lot of time and transportation costs, should we have not liked the car.
As it happens, the car was all we hoped it would be.
