Was wary of buying from car supermarket for first used car but decided to put my prejudieces aside. Arrived after making appointment to test drive car to find no one expecting us (bad start). Sat down with salesman (A.M.) and told him what car we were interested in. After he collected car (not given opportunity to browse any others) we inspected and AM pointed out several scratches saying "don't worry about these, the car will be passed though body shop and be up to showroom standard on collection". This filled me with confidence so I looked passed the minor scratches in the knowledge that they would not be there on collection. Had a good test drive and got down to business. When through usual sales tactics and decided to put down deposit to secure the car. This had to be done with a 'Business Specialist' (C.McD.). This was another opportunity for sales tactics for extended warrantie etc. This was a new experience as all other cars simply bought through initial salesman. C.McD.s attitude to A.M. was quite derogatory, clearly business manages hold themselves in higher regard than the meger salesman!
We decided to collect the car the following day, bank holiday Monday. However we were told that car would not be taxed and that this would sort that out on collection. When I realised post office would not be open on a bank holiday a phone A.M. and to my surprise his advice was to collect the car anyway and drive (illegally) home and get tax disc the next day! Needless to say we did't follow his advise and collected on the Tuesday. Not very impressed with advice to break the law, wonder if DVLA would be happy about this?
When my wife collect the car and got home we found that non of the scratches that A.M. Pointed out to us had been touched, infact the car was in exactly the same condition as when we took it for a test drive! Since then a customer service rep informs he that they don't have a body shop. However they did agree to take the car back and see to all the scratches I pointed out to them that A.M. said would be fixed. Once again, on return of the car non of the scratches had been done except one which had been badly repaire previously.
After speaking to customer service reps again they said they had done what A.M. Had agreed. To which I pointed out, A.M. had said all scratch would be done and car would be in showroom standard. Clearly I was not happy about his, customer service rep was not very helpful and insisted they had for filled what we had agreed with A.M. I informed her I would like to take this further to which she said she would speak to A.M. and get something to me in writing. That was 18 days ago and I am still waiting!
Not a happy customer and could not recommend! But do love my car.

Many thanks for taking the time to post your review regarding your recent purchase at Car Shop. We have a vast amount of cars on site and all are displayed in a well lit showroom, customers are warmly invited to peruse at leisure, all cars are valeted and prepared to an extremely high standard. We have many finance packages available for customers and these do need to be explained in a very thorough detailed format so customers are aware of all the features and benefits so they are able to make an informed decision. If this part of the process seemed a little lengthy please accept Car Shop apologies but the need to be thorough is paramount. With reference to the tax on vehicles, Car Shop does not own any of the vehicles so are therefore unable to tax them. Car Shop does not recommend driving a vehicle without tax. It is unfortunate that the issues regarding the scratches were not mentioned upon collection as this could have been addressed at that point. As you pointed out Car Shop agreed to collect the vehicle from your home and carry out further enhancements, this was then delivered back to you and your wife accepted the vehicle and was perfectly happy with the additional work carried out. It is unfortunate you were unhappy with the level of service you received, however it is not standard practice to collect and deliver a car and this was done as a gesture of goodwill. Car Shop is pleased you are enjoying your car and wish you many happy years of motoring.
