Went to the Car Shop in Doncaster to browse around cars, I walked in and there was hundreds of cars which I thought was great, loads of choice. Immediatley I was approached by a sales rep called Steve, very pleasant and happy to help us, said he would leave us to to have a look and he wouldn't give us an hassle which to be fair he didn't. It was about 15 minutes after he came up and asked if we was interested in any of the cars. We was looking at a Vauxhall Zafira, so he took us to his desk and went through different options of finance with us, gave us a valuation of my old car to trade in against the new one which I did think was a fair price. There was a chip in the back door which was also slightly dinted but he said he would repair this and put some petrol in the car all I had to do to reserve the car was to leave a deposit of £200. I didnt reserve the car there and then i needed to go home and think about it and Steve said he would ring me up later. About 5 oclock the same day he rang me and I decided to go for it so he took a deposit from me and told me i could collect the car at 10 oclock a couple of days later.
Thursday teatime i got a message on my phone that I could pick the car up at 1 oclock which this was not conveinient for me so we arrange for 11 oclock. I got there at 11 on the Friday and someone took me straight through to go through the paper work and take my money. It turned out that the deposit they took from me was £300 and not £200 which I was not happy about at all. once I'd payed up I went over to another department to sign my old car over. They asked me if I'd got my insurance papers for the new car which I didn't as Steve the sales rep said we got 1 weeks free insurance with Aviva till we got our own sorted out but did't inform us we had to arrange this ourselves. So that took about half hour to sort out. Once all that was in place i could check the car over and go through to sheffield DVLA to sort the tax disk out as it was previously a motorbility car. The car still had the dint on the door and ther was no petrol in it and also there was a scrape on the front bumper. We told a the lady in who we was dealing with and she inform a guy called Raj, he came over and said there was nothing he could do about it as I should have seen it before I bought the car he said he would put some fuel in and he would take a look at the dint on the door. I wasn't happy at this stage so he said he woukld sort it by the time i got back from Sheffield. off we went to the DVLA office which took a couple of hours, when we got back the car was still there and nothing had been done to it. By this time it was 2.30 and I had to pick children up from school so i was fuming. Apparantly this Raj person hadn't informed anyone to do this work, the lady on the collections department was so apologetic and very helpful and got it sorted for me and I'm now driving my new car which I love but I would say that almost a full day to pick the car up is not acceptable and the lack of commumication between staff is very poor. I think they couldn't be nice enough when they was trying to sell you the car but once the money changed hands they wasn't interested.
