On Monday 23 march 2015 I purchased a Mercedes c250 at a cost of just under £15000 this car had faults the same day I telephoned car giant who advised me to take it to a main agents near my home 180 mile away I was extremely lucky the car made the journey according to main agents due to a coolant and injector problems I was advised not to use the car until it could be booked in on the Thursday the car is still there and will be until the end of next week, I have no car and out of pocket for nearly £15000, and insurance at just under £500 plus road tax, I am having to currently walk or use taxis and buses not bad for 15 grand is it, I have explained this to them but getting no where I have contacted trading standard who have advised me to give them written notice by recorded delivery to refund within 14 days otherwise this will have to go to court and it will.this is not fair the car was in a mess on the inside when I first viewed the car and was still in a mess on collection the next day it seemed it had just had a quick pressure wash to look selable.
One of the advisers actually told me they don't always have time to check vehicles due to the large volumes so have to make do with a walk round inspection in some cases well this is not good enough when I have to travel 180 mile. Also the main dealer cannot find any records of the actual mileage/service records on Mercedes system so where has this car been for servicing in the last 3 years? is the mileage correct it seems no one will guarantee it, So far this has been a NIGHTMARE for me and the family and has caused massive problems me getting to work etc let alone the 2 days going to view then buy and it seems this is only the beginning court action is a long process, I will continue to post as I progress. I paid cash for this on the day and am well out of pocket I intend contacting the London papers on Monday morning.
