i bought a car in Feb this year, it came with a advertised transferable policy that covered the car for over 2 more years. i saw on their website they had an email address so i sent details across of the policy asking for it to be transferred and advising where to send the fee of £25. i heard nothing back and after a few more requests, i finally got an email saying that i had to have the booklet, i advised this did not come with the car and who to contact to transfer the policy. i called up… Read Full Review

Further to your post, The WMS Group transfer 98% of all renewal or transfer applications received, unfortunately not all circumstances allow for a transfer of ownership. The WMS Group clearly specify in policy books that ‘we reserve the right to decline any renewal or transfer without explanation’, this would have been stated in the policy book that should have come with the purchase, which you have indicated in your post that you did not receive with the vehicle at the point of sale.

I would like to clarify that you did not actually purchase a Guarantee or Warranty from the WMS Group.

“Help with roadside breakdown.”

Written on: 03/06/2014 by Camrynf426 (1 review written)

My Jaguar broke down on the road with a suspension problem, I rang the warranty company and told them what had happened and they gave me the name of a local garage to ring. I rang the garage and they came out within half an hour which was very good. They towed the vehicle to their garage and gave me a lift to the local train station. The garage checked the car and rang WMS warranty co. whom I had taken a warranty out with when I bought the car ( thank god) they then got the ok to go ahead with… Read Full Review

I recently bought a car with a 36 month '5 star' WMS warranty from someone in London. He had bought the car 6 months previously and the so called warranty with it.He showed me the WMS booklet and the part that stated it was transferable with a £50 fee. This made the purchase far more attractive as I thought I would be covered for any faults. The fee had to be paid within 7 days of the purchase which I did by recorded delivery. I got a letter back with my cheque saying that they would not… Read Full Review

I am a car dealer and up until recently I put WMS warranties on my cars. I will NEVER EVER use them again. I had an engine blow up on a Mercedes. Because their engineers report was inconclusive(they didnt know what caused it) THEY REFUSED TO PAY OUT. I was left with a bill of thousands of pounds after having to buy the car back from the customer becuase WMS took so long to finally say they werent paying up. I replaced the turbo(not covered) the engine(not covered) the radiator(may have given me… Read Full Review

Bought this cover on a 4* policy. 2 months in my garage diagnosed egr valve problem. Spoke to company, gave them the fault and diagnostic details and they authorised the garage to go ahead but when coming to pay they asked for part to be sent to them which we did. They sent a letter back almost immediately saying no fault found on part!! They couldn't have had time to check it and send that letter ! we asked for the part to be returned to us and it was still in the package we sent it to them… Read Full Review

“Not worth the paper its written on”

Paid for a warranty with this lot and cambelt broke. They now say its not covered as a timing gear failed and jammed the belt. Both belt and timing gears are covered under warranty but they are their supposed independent engineer whose name and report they refuse to disclose say its because a bolt broke and they don't cover bolts. Also they say that a timing gear is a timimg pulley and they don't cover these either. Complained to the underwriters of the policy - no reponse but now their claims… Read Full Review
