“ECU Doctor puts life back into Vauxhall Zafira.”

Written on: 10/05/2015 by TomDixon441 (1 review written)

My daughter's 2007 Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 diesel had been refusing to start, intermittently to begin with, but eventually refused to start or do anything at all. The trouble was eventually tracked down to corroded pins on the large multi-connector on the engine ECU and on the end of the wiring loom connecting to it. Having done some research on the Internet I came across a lot of positive reviews of the ECU Doctor so I decided to contact them via email and explain my dilemma, I received a… Read Full Review

“Back on the road again thanks”

Written on: 05/05/2015 by davidm504 (1 review written)

After several months in my local garage finding the problem on my imported Grand Hiace Wagon looked destined for the scrap yard. The initila problem was engine cutting out after warming up but this gradually worsened until the 1KZ-TE engine just wouldn't start at all. After a lot of forum searching the ECU was the only thing we hadn't tried but the garage's usual contacts couldn't help as this is an imported model. A quick call to ECU Doctor after a search on the internet and they would have a… Read Full Review

“The ECU Doctor did it for me”

Written on: 02/05/2015 by isWillis490 (1 review written)

This company really got me back on the road after repairing my faulty ecu, after owing my Toyota Surf for the last 13 years without being let down it decided to not start for me. I had heard of the ECU Doctor through one of the Toyota Surf forums so after checking out the most obvious areas that could have gone wrong I gave them a call. And asked the friendly staff if it was possible to have my ECU checked out for faults, bearing in mind that the Toyota is 22 years old, but I was very relieved… Read Full Review

“Mis informed about work done to my Zafira ECU”

Written on: 19/04/2015 by john2120 (1 review written)

I had my ECU repaired just over 12 months ago I was told the main processor had gone and the repair would cost £200. I agreed to have the work done which was carried out and returned quickly, being a curious person I removed the cover and saw the repair, a tiny wire had come off the circuit board. the repair consisted of a small bridge between 2 contacts at the side with a blob of solder, due to the gel covering it is clear to see that nothing else was done.Yes it was repaired and has worked… Read Full Review

“ECU FAULT CODES NOT REPORTING - SORTED - THANKS”

Written on: 22/02/2015 by tystie (1 review written)

Had a broken ECU where incompetent DPF software removal had deleted ability to see fault codes. Engine systems fault light came on - went into limp mode - no fault readable by me or professional garage/tuner nor could they sort the software except at huge Ford costs. ECU doctor found the fault, reflashed an updated Ford software and sent me back the original unit. It was plug and play and the immobiliser system and keys all worked perfectly. Fault code was read - just needed glow plugs!! The… Read Full Review

“Positive Feedback for the ECU Doctor and team.”

My 2001 Vauxhall Astra G was dead. After reading all the reviews here, I asked if I could have my ECU tested on Monday. Everything was explained very clearly.I posted my ECU the same day and I was kept informed. My ECU was tested faulty and I was asked if I would like them to sort the fault. The ECU Doctor and team delivered on plan, price and schedule. Very nice, fast and efficient. My ECU was back in Wigan on Thursday morning 19.02.2015 and the Astra was brought back to life, thanks to the… Read Full Review

“Volswagen Digifant Repair”

Written on: 13/01/2015 by Leendert (1 review written)

Several years ago it was part of my business to search out repair possibilities for car control units relating to fuel injection. At the time we sent several units to ECU doctor which jobs were completed with excellent results. Now I am retired I came across a problem with our fuel injected Volkswagen. Having still knowledge from work in the past I was able to raise eyebrows at some of the diagnostics made by the experts even VW dealers! I remembered the good results from about 6 years ago and… Read Full Review

“it works”

Written on: 23/08/2014 by Archerxk233 (1 review written)

Sent off my ECU to the doctor, they called back with good news that it could be fixed, paid for it then it was sent back to me the next day. Great service, and far more reasonable than getting a reconditioned or new unit. its given my old Audi a new lease of life as if it could not be repaired it was heading for the great scrap yard in the sky. Thank you once again ECU Doctor… Read Full Review

“Best customer service EVER!”

Written on: 11/07/2014

My vehicle had an long-term, intermittent and ongoing problem. In desperation I sent the ECU to ECU Doctor for testing and repair. Time was extremely pressing so they sent me out a replacement ECU, saying that if the fault was not in the ECU , they would accept this ECU back and send me my old one back with just a re-stocking fee and carriage. As it turned out, the fault lay elsewhere and true to their word, they accepted the replacement ECU back. At this time they are reprogramming my… Read Full Review

“Absolutely brilliant service”

Written on: 04/07/2014 by Lindseyx370 (1 review written)

We bough a 10 year old peugeot 206 3 months ago for £1500 and then ran into problems with it. Our ECU broke and we were told it would be £695 to replace witha new one. We were constantly told by various mechanics and companies that the ECU couldnt be repaired and it was very hard to find a replacement that matches the car. We though we were going to have to scrap the car but as a last resort we tried the ECU Doctor and thank God we did!!! They tested our Ecu and sent us back a repaired ECU… Read Full Review

“Great service - ECU repair”

Written on: 19/05/2014 by Bazza1955 (1 review written)

I had an intermittent engine warning light problem that so called VW/Audi ‘specialists’ couldn't resolve. After a failed attempt to identify the issue (and £220 from me) they suggested a replacement ECU could be the answer (with no offer of a refund of the £600 / £700 cost if it wasn't the answer). In searching internet forums for a diagnosis, I saw a recommendation for ECU Doctor and got in touch. The initial conversation was very helpful and their service very efficient (I took the… Read Full Review

“Vauxhall Meriva”

Written on: 08/05/2014 by SashaReynolds340 (1 review written)

Since buying my Vauxhall Meriva Enjoy 11 months ago I've had endless faults with my car. All have been fuel related, fuel pump, fuel relay system and cutting out constantly when the engine temperature reached over 80 degrees. After being told that the ECU needed replacing at £600 I contacted the ECU Doctor, they were very friendly and helpful. I had the ECU removed and dropped it over to them. It was repaired in a couple of days and was third of the price of a brand new ECU. I collected… Read Full Review

“Ford KA saved!”

Written on: 02/05/2014 by Stoutcv322 (1 review written)

Bought a lovely condition, low mileage KA luxury for my Daughter for £900 but within a couple of weeks it ran really rough. Spent a long time & a chunk of money trying to save it to no avail. Into Ford who diagnosed ECU at a replacement cost of £1300. This would scrap the car which was crazy considering the condition etc. Quick call to ECU doctor & sent them the unit. Within a VERY quick turnaround, the ECU came back with an extensive description of the fault including a very helpful wiring… Read Full Review

“Intermittent but persistent problems on 2006 Honda CRV...”

Written on: 11/04/2014 by djtip (1 review written)

Vehicle Honda CRV, 2006 model, 2.2 Turbo Diesel engine. Having had problems with my ECU intermittently for 9 months and having exhausted both my dealer's & Honda UK's customer service patience I needed an independent opinion. Towards the end I was getting an error on at least 50% of journeys, my OBD resetting tool was getting lots of use. Honda UK said they couldn't give me any more specific information, like wiring diagrams, ECU functional operating description. My dealer said the next thing… Read Full Review

Please don't confuse ECU-Doctors.co.uk or Power tune with this company, these two companies are corrupt to the core. please check companies house to see if they are registered and paying tax. failure to do so will end up being poorer and still having issues with your ECU

Hi Philpotty,
I presume you are distinguishing between "THE-ecu-doctor.co.uk and the similarly named "ecu-doctor.co.uk".
I hadn't realised that there were two with very similar web addresses.
The company I had rebuild my ecu had 'the' in their web address and is located near Plymouth.
I can only repeat that they did a fantastic job.

“Quick, effective, polite and affordable.”

Written on: 24/03/2014 by adam_christie (1 review written)

Having come to the conclusion that the ECU in my wifes' Vauxhall Astra had developed a fault, I rang round various ECU Repair companies and was concerned to hear that I would be paying through the nose for my ECU to be checked and repaired. I understand that the ECU of a car can be an expensive bit of kit, but to charge nearly the same as an ECU to repair it was quite irritating. After doing some further research on the Vauxhall owners forms, I read that some of the members had has good… Read Full Review
