Absolutely & totally ripped off!

I needed a service, at £118 and the most expensive in the area, I figured that this had to be a pretty good service. With two children, I needed the car to be collected and dropped off, and as nowhere else could get it in when I needed it to go, this seemed convenient.

After the car had been in I would say about one hour, a lady phoned me and told me that they had put 'special oils' into the car, which will cost more. I didn't ask for any special oils and on the website it states that the customer would be contacted before anything else is done. She then went down a HUGE list of what the car needed done. Now, my car went in driving perfectly, minus a headlight out. I was told it needed an engine flush, and that it had a broken spring (car was driving fine, no noise, no uneven-ness)...and that it was best to replace both springs. I asked how much that would be, £220....I said no just bring it back, she said she heard I had kids in the background and it would be so dangerous driving with broken springs, so I said yes. I asked what the total would be, she said £462 and hung up!....

Then I get emails holding my car at ransom, then she calls today and I ask for a full breakdown 'did you pay yet, you will get it when your car is returned.' I said you've not even sent a payment instruction. So the instruction to pay comes through, and it's not £462, overall the whole thing has cost £499. for a SERVICE AND HEADLIGHT BULB CHANGE!

I don't trust mechanics anymore. Christmas is just around the corner and it looks like it will be a very slim one for the kids! I was so scared that my car would be returned damage as I seriously think they would have broken the spring and sent it back like that if I had not of been duped into it.
