51 plate Golf GTI 117647 miles on the clock, my experience with some mechanics has not been great when I have rang them up, fast talking & limited experience in customer service (they expect you to know what they're talking about or bull**it baffles brains!) anyway, rang up Phil at the Fishponds branch and he was good as gold. explained that he did not know if the DMF would need to be replaced until everything was out, it did need replacing as it turned out and total cost was £615.
There is no way of knowing on my part whether this was true or not but the overall feeling was that I was dealing with a stand up bunch of guys that knew what they were talking about & I would be happy to use there services again, but hopefully it won't cost as much next time.
