Incompetent & patronising

I took my car into the Malago Road, Bristol garage in July 2011 for it's MOT and service. I was told that the car needed two new callipers and as they were having problems doing the work they needed the car for two days. The Manager took me home (25 miles) in his own car which was a POSITIVE. Not so positive was the bill - over £700! Immediately the car started to make a clanking noise under the drivers seat. Due to work it was a couple of months of clanking before I took the car back to the Malago Road garage. The mechanic I dealt with was rude and patronising - the sort of guy who could and would take advantage of a woman and who gives mechanics a bad name. He said that although he could hear the clanking noise - and believe me everyone else could hear it - he couldn't see anything.

Due to illness the car was off the road for several months until June 2011 with the clanking noise still in evidence. I took the car to a local garage for it's MOT, basic service and to try to find out what the problem was. It took him less than 10 seconds to find out the problem. One of the nuts was loose which had been taken off during the work for the callipers.

If the nut had worked loose I would hold up my hands and say that's life but as the clanking started immediately after driving the car out of the Malago Road, Bristol garage I have come to the conclusion that the problem was Kwik Fit.

I WILL NEVER USE KWIK FIT AGAIN and never recommend them to anyone. I now know they have targets - perhaps spending two days on my car and charging me over £700 was one of those targets. Taking it back and complaining was not.
