I booked my BMW 1 series in for a "half price" MOT on FEbruary 15th 2013 at Halfords Coventry (Foleshill Road).
They failed it on a suspenion problem and then also advised 2 other points as amber. The total cost of rectisying these problems would have been in excess of £250.
I then took the car to another garage who knew my car as they had underatken the service for me and they showed me exactly what Halfords were saying it had failed on (I even went under the car to see for myself)...... what a suprise absolutely NOTHING wrong with the car at all.
I returned to Halfords the following day to speak with the manager, who for the record would not know customer service skills if he took a lifelong course in them!). Of course they were insistent that there was a problem and refused to accept that I had alreday had my MOT passed at another garage.
Halfords are pulling customers in by offering the MOT half price, but be warned they make up problems that you then may feel obliged to have fixed by them.
Whatever you do DO NOT go there!
