“Incompetent service from halfords "we'll fit it"”

Avoid Halfords at all costs if you need someone to fit or replace any parts for your car.

Bought a new battery for my car which I asked for them to fit. Not only did they not fit the battery, the broke the clamp on the tray which holds the battery in place.

To remedy the fault - they advised I should go a Halfords autocentre which would fix it for free. Rang them up the next day to book an appointment only to be told I would need to pay.

Went back to the store to complain and was told that it was not a big problem, and that they would only arrange for the autocentre to fix it. Having seen botch job done by the store, I decided against taking it to the autocentre.

They might seem cheap, but they don't care if they damage your vehicle. They are not trained (from my experience at least) so trust your car to them at your peril! Find a good mechanic and you'll be better off.
