“Where to Begin!”

I booked in at 9.35 am at Gloucester to have 4 x Michelin Cross Climates (SUV)put on my vehicle at no small expense on 12th April 2018. The Manager and Staff were very polite and I was advised it would take about an hour. I was advised that the alignment was out and elected to have it corrected at extra cost. At about 10.50am I was told that my vehicle was ready, paid and went out to have a look at the tyres. The tyres I had chosen have an unusual tread pattern and because of this a rotation indicator to show which way they should be fitted. I was surprised to see that the nearside front and offside rear had been fitted the wrong way round. I pointed this out to the Manager he apologised and told me that the tyre fitter was away and the person who fitted the tyres doesn't normally fit tyres??? Really in a tyre fitting centre!!! The mistake was corrected and at 11.10 am I left for home only to find that the vehicle was pulling in to the nearside. I had a quick coffee at home (the coffee machine at the tyre centre was out of order,) then returned to the centre where the manager corrected the wheel alignment himself and refunded me the cost of the alignment. I finally left the centre at about 12.10pm. The whole morning gone! Not the best experience ever I'm afraid.

“5 stars? Don't make me laugh”

After recently re-visiting the Gloucester branch of F1 for a refund for faulty fitting of engine coils and damage to my car, I can hand on heart say I've never been so badly treated by a company! They have taken just under a month to refund me for the faulty product which was well within it's one year warranty and continuously spoke to me in such a rude and off-hand manner. Initially, I was optimistic that they would sort the issue promptly, was repeatedly reassured that they would contact the Area Manager and get back to me. This never happened - I called them every single time. I was given blunt responses and probing questions, such as 'why didn't you bring it back to us?' Here's a thought - maybe because the services were overpriced and I didn't want further damage to my car? I chased it up for 3 and a half weeks before demanding to speak to the Area Manager - I refused to be palmed off any longer. I don't know if the Area Manager had even heard of my issue before I called Customer Services directly but it took the lovely lady handling my problem a matter of HOURS to sort! Brilliant from her - not so brilliant from the incompetent manager at F1 who thought the problem would just go away and then left her to deal with my anger. Ridiculous - definitely think twice before going there! Glad I've finally resolved my issue.

“Do not go here!!”

Horrendous service, and looking at the other reviews, I'm not alone with my experience! Tyres booked in to be done at half 8, MOT booked for 9am. They told me when I arrived that they wanted to do the MOT first as it would be easier for them so they can fit further clients in faster - fair enough. They didnt tell me though that this meant they wouldnt actually start any work on my car until 9am as the system apparently doesnt load until then to do the MOT?? So why not just do my tyres in the half an hour gap?? Anyway.. after waiting almost 2 hours, in their cold reception for it all to be done, they finally tell me my brake pads are low and I have therefore failed my MOT. They quote me for the repair, £200 more than any other garage in Gloucester! By this time I'm now later for work than anticipated and not amused. I called around for quotes as I felt theirs sounded so unreasonable. They tried to urge me to get the repairs done through them though as they state that they would only give me a free retest if I did so.. No where on their website, when I booked, does it say that I am only entitled to a free retest if I do the repairs through them. Tried to argue this but I got continuously fobbed off. He stated that the VOSE guidelines state that if the brakes are repaired outside of their garage, then they have to charge for another full MOT.. Can anyone else find this on the guidelines because I certainly can't! Rude manager here and quick to fob you off. Just dont go here regardless of whether you think the price looks good! Not worth it!!

“Disaster, please avoid!”

I took my car to change my timing belt and alternator belt. A couple months after my car stoped working. I took it back to be told that the alternator belt snapped and went in to the timing belt and blow the head. Although they fit a new belt a couple months ago they refused to take responsibility and they asked me to pay 3800 to fix the engine. Of course I moved my car to a different garage... I am without a car 3 months now, renting and it cast me over 3000 already and still the car hasn't been fixed yet! Please avoid this garage!!!! They amateurs and unprofessional. Over all my experience with this company has been a disaster from the mechanics to the costumer service! !! Please avoid, they are terible! !!!!

“Brilliant service ”

Thank you for your fantastic service, you were really friendly, helpful and made me feel at ease. You helped point me in the direction of getting my alloy repaired, even checking my changing of my wheel was ok and safe. Whilst my alloy was being repaired at a specialist that you kindly recommended, you ordered my tyre and then oversaw the work carried out on my vehicle. It was completed to a really good standard and within a timely manner. Swindons loss, Gloucester branches gain - brilliant manager, great customer service.

“Would definitely avoid”

Had car booked in for work including new brake pads, service, and an MOT. The brake pads needed replacing to pass the MOT yet I still got a call to tell me the car had failed MOT due to the brake pads. They'd also had to jump the car after "one of the young lads run down the batery listening to the stereo". The day after I picked up my car it wouldn't start properly. I took it to an authorised dealer who told me that the battery cover over the positive terminal had been snapped off and the battery was arcing, obviously done there when they'd jumped it. They also told me the wheel nut covers were missing. I've also realised they used the cheapest brake pads going as stopping power has decreased noticeably. They must have got the new lad to fit them as well as they squeal terribly now. Seriously go elsewhere.

“Worst repair experience of my life - Avoid at all cost”

I was referred to this Formual one Autocentre in Gloucester by the RAC (who informed me this was a reputable place) when my car broke down in the local area. When I was told it had been repaired, I went to pick up the car and requested a short test drive and during this, the same problem reappeared. They claimed it was a new fault which it wasn't and then they tried to blame it on the RAC for not making them aware of the problem (even though I had personally told him several times). During this time I was spoken to like a piece of dirt with threats to remove the new parts and replace them with the old parts, and had to diffuse a situation with a highly confrontational and aggressive mechanic. The same mechanic left my engine cover and parts (which he had removed because he did not know what was causing the problem) on the pavement outside the garage for half an hour in the rain and would not refit them unless the payment issue was resolved. I refused to pay and he only refitted the parts that were left on the pavement after my partner spoke to him on the phone and asked him to be helpful. Don't ever give your business to this garage, its reputation is finished and I guess the business will be too if they continue to treat customers like this - you have been warned!

“Awful, stay away!”

Staffed by a bunch of amateurs. Following an MOT and service last year, I left the garage and when attempting to go round a corner, heard a terrible grinding noise in my wheels. It turned out they had forgotten to take the tracking tool off. I returned and questioned them about this, to which they responded that everything was OK. However, following an inspection recently, it turns out that there was damage. I am deeply disappointed with this service, and do not recommend anyone use this garage due to the poor attention to basic details.
